Growing up in the world of "S.O.S." and "Burnin' Up," we all got the best of the Jonas Brothers. The best of the best, in my opinion, of boybands came and went and we got to experience it all. If you're anywhere in your 20a, you for sure remember your first slow dance to "When You Look Me In They Eyes," and you remember begging your parents to buy tickets the next time you favorite boys were in town. While the Jonas Brothers gave us a great childhood, there are many songs they sang that didn't quite top the charts. These songs, whether it's the lyrics or the beat are definitely worth the listen if you are a long lived JoBro fan.
1. "Take A Breath"
This song has deep meaning, it is about life. Sometimes in life you just need to stop for a second and breathe. Whether it's after a fight with a loved one or a bad day at work, it is always a good idea to stop for a second, and take a breath.
Key Lyrics: "People change and promises are broken, clouds will move and skies will be wide open."... "Blink our eyes life's rearranged, to our surprise it's still okay."... "Life isn't suffocating, air isn't overrated"
2. "Hollywood"
This song tells the story of life when you are famous. It really talks about what a crazy life you live in the spot light and how if you have the passion you will make it.
Key Lyrics: "And game over, you're done, out of left field, we won, pack our bags, yeah we'll run, Hollywood here we come"... "You can try to break us and make us fall apart, but the fire's in our hearts"
3. "Games"
This clever play on words tells a story about a girl who, of course liked to play games. Something a lot of people can relate to. But the clever part about this song is that the boys use clever board game titles in their songs, such as Sorry!, and Trouble.
Key Lyrics: "Will you care when I'm gone, and it's time, and I've really had enough"... "I'm sorry for the trouble, it's been constant us so much"..."I'm so bored with these games"
4. "Hold On"
This song is a great message to anyone. When times are hard, just hold on, they will get better.
Key Lyrics: "So don't give up stand till then, 'cause there's more to life than just to live." ... "When you love someone and they break your heart, don't give up on love, have faith restart."
5. "Sorry"
A heartfelt apology song, filled with heart and emotion. The type of heartache where you are in the wrong and you can't do anything about it except to apologize.
Key Lyrics: "I'm sorry for breaking all the promises that I wasn't around to keep" ... "This time is the last time, I will ever beg you to stay"
6. "Video Girl"
Classic girl bashing song. This song is so catchy and makes you hate the girl they are singing about. Everyone knows who this song is about and they all know what type of girl she is. Everyone has a "video girl."
Key Lyrics: "Your plan didn't work, you should've known better, it's gonna suck when the cameras stop rolling"... "Video girl rocked my world for a whole two seconds" ... "You know it's bad when you're mama doesn't like her, all your friends saying she's a liar" ... "Daddy pays your bills but you still whine"
7. "Black Keys"
This is one of my all time favorite songs. It is beautifully written. It talks about how sometimes is it better to look at a situation in black and white, one way or another without all the greys. Sometimes things are better in black and white rather than to mess them up with color.
Key Lyrics: "She hates the sun, "cause it proves she's not alone and the world doesn't revolve around his sole" ... "Don't let 'em get inside of your head"
8. "Fly With Me"
Another one of my favorite, reflects on the Disney movie Peter Pan. The boys sing about falling in love and flying away together. Being together forever without a care in the world.
Key Lyrics: "If we chase the stars to lose our shadow, Peter Pan and Wendy turned out fine, so won't you fly with me" ... "Maybe you were just afraid, knowing you were miles away from the place where you needed to be, and that's right here with me."
9. "Love Is On It's Way"
Another beautiful song urging listeners to just wait and be patient. A wonderful anthem tells those with broken hearts that love is indeed on it's way.
Key Lyrics: "Dreamers, you see everything in color, while the world is getting darker" ... "Hold on another day, 'cause love is on its way, you'll find it's gonna be okay"
10. "That's Just The Way We Roll"
A great song with a great beat. A fun party song that let's you express yourself. Telling listeners that it's okay to be who you are.
Key Lyrics "We are wild, we are free, we are more than you think, so call us freaks but that's just the way we roll" ... 'I woke up on the roof with my brothers, there's a whale in the pool with my mother, and my dad paints the house different colors"
