At a school as big as Delaware, it's easy to miss out on some pretty life-changing stuff, so without further ado, here is the list of the campuses "best kept secrets."
1. The Chapel
The Chapel (aka Daugherty Hall in Trabant) is easily the most underrated study spot on campus.
2. The dance studios in the back of the Little Bob
The dance studios in the back of the gym are not only for dancers and fitness classes, they are also for unathletic humans who hate trying to work out in the crowded gym. If you prefer a more private workout space, head down the hallway to the back portion of the gym and (t)werk out to your heart's content in one of the open studios.
3. Santa Fe nachos
Kate's nachos may be half-priced, but Santa Fe nachos are worth every penny.
4. White Clay Creek
If you're sick of #basic pictures from the Newark Reservoir, you should check out one of the hiking trails in White Clay. It's walkable from campus, and it's a great mini escape, too.
5. The second water filling station in the Little Bob
Few people know that there is a actually another place to fill your water bottle up in the gym. Think how handy this knowledge will be the next time the filling station in the main area of the gym decides to send out minimal water and stop filling your bottle up halfway (pretty much happens weekly). Go down the long hallway, pass the pool, and turn right towards the faculty gym; if you pass the racquetball courts, you have gone too far.
6. The food carts by Purnell
Two words: dumpling burritos.
7. ISE Lab bathrooms
(Apparently taking pictures of bathrooms is not a thing.)
Low-key best bathrooms on campus.
8. Goodwill
Located at the end of Main Street in Newark Shopping Center, Goodwill is one of the best locations to buy random things on campus. (I'm talking last-minute mixer costumes here, people.)
9. Newark Natural
While you're at Goodwill, you should also check out this gem. It has every healthy food item you could dream of and a cafe with tons of yummy food ready to order. It's a great alternative to ShopRite and Pathmark when you feel like really embracing that health kick. Plus, they have a farmer's market in the parking lot on Sundays.
10. Louise and David Roselle Center for the Arts (CFA)
If you're ever looking to explore your own campus more, you should definitely check out this building. It's located on West Campus and has some cool theaters/spaces inside.
