Pumpkin is the best, amirite?

Seriously, it's my favorite seasonal snack flavor. Something about pumpkin flavored anything makes me feel like I'm walking through New York in the fall to The Cranberries just like Meg Ryan in You've Got Mail.

I'm from Houston, a city that has lows in January that are probably New York's highs in April. Fall, therefore, is more of an illusion than a reality here. We don't have the pretty changing leaves or the cool, crisp air. We sweat our way through the day as we drink apple cider, and there isn't an apple orchard anywhere in sight for us to go take advantage of. We are actually insanely excited because our first legitimate cool-front is supposed to come through next week, giving us our first sensation of actual fall weather. The highs are going to be in the 70s! That's sweater weather!

In order to cope with starkly absent fall weather, Houstonians and fellow Texans everywhere turn to pumpkin flavored fall treats to keep us in the spirit, despite the t-shirts and shorts that we are forced to continue wearing. Without further adieu, here are 10 delicious pumpkins snacks that we indulge in:

1. Trader Joe's "So this Pumpkin walks into a bar..." snack bars

THE BEST. The pumpkin smell comes off a little strong when you open the package, I'll admit. But then, you take one bite into it and...oh my gosh. Heaven.

2. Jamba Juice Pumpkin Smash smoothie

YES. YES. YES. This is like pumpkin ice cream decadently flowing through the straw and onto your taste buds. Bonus: It's a cold drink, so you can enjoy the taste of fall while staying cool during Houston's everlasting summers.

3. Panera Bread Pumpkin Muffie

This little guy is so much yes. Pair him with a coffee and your tummy will thank you later.

4. Trader Joe's Pumpkin Waffles

Because breakfast never looked so autumnal. Start your day off as basic as possible with this fall-time treat.

5. The pumpkin spice glazed doughnut from Krispy Kreme

This thing is, like, super exclusive. You can get it October 6th, 13th and 20th after 6:00 p.m., or you can get it all day on National Pumpkin Day (October 26th). Did you know National Pumpkin Day was a thing? I didn't, either. I'm SO EXCITED NOW.

We all wait for it. When the release day in September finally hits, I'm the first person in line at Starbucks to partake. It's the best. No questions asked. It's decadent. Delicious. It makes your taste buds sing happy songs. Nothing compares to the PSL. Nothing.
