We all know how it is. Every now and then you have a week that not only stresses you out, but you can't catch a break. It's okay, you'll get through it. Here are 10 simple tips I learned from experience that should help you through your stressful week.
1. Take a step back and breathe.
Even though this is a small thing to do, it is definitely effective. Sometimes all you need to do is step back and get your life together before continuing.
2. Relax, maybe take a nap.
Taking a nap is the best way to relax. Even just a quick 30 minute nap would do you wonders. So, if you start feeling stressed out, take a break and take a short nap. I guarantee you, you'll feel refueled and ready to work when you wake up.
3. Prioritize.
A key thing to keep in mind is to prioritize all of the work you have to do. Make a list if it helps you. Put the utmost important things you have to do at the top and work your way down in order of importance. I like to put papers, projects and studying for tests at the top and homework and reading assignments at the bottom.
4. Have a little fun.
In order to stay stress-free it's important to have a little fun and "me time" here and there. Play a little music, watch a few episodes of your favorite show, or hang out with some friends. Take a small break, then return to your work.
5. Find a friend to rant to.
Sometimes when you're having a stressful week, all you need to do is just release your frustration. And the best way of doing that is finding a friend you can rant to. Release your stress and get back to work.
6. Call mom and dad.
However, sometimes no other person can help other than your mom and dad. Don't be afraid to call home. Your parents will always be there for you, especially when you are stressed.
7. Keep telling yourself, "I can do this."
One of the most important things to keep in mind when you're stressed is that you can get through this tough week. And even if you don't think you can, I know you can. Have faith in yourself.
8. Find something to get your mind off of all you have to do.
When you take a break, sometimes it's best to just find something to do. Whether it's reading a book, cleaning your room or getting something to eat, when you do something other than your work, your brain has a small break which will help you de-stress. Then after a bit, you will be ready to hit the books again.
9. Just get it over with and get it done.
After a while, sometimes it's just best to suck it up and get everything done.
10. And once the week is over, sit back and recoup.
Then, when you are finally done for the week, you can sit back, relax and recoup from your stressful week, pat yourself on the back and hope that the next week will be better.
