Ten Things To Remember On Your Worst Days

Your best friend ditched you, your boss fired you, your boyfriend dumped you, or you just woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Bad things happen all the time, but that doesn't mean that your day should be ruined. Even the happiest of people have a rough day, and it might seem like you can't catch a break. Everything takes time, and other people will never be the answer to your problems, here are 10 things to remember when you’re feeling down to help you pick yourself up.

1.“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” Charles R. Swindoll → crappy things happen to everyone, but how you react is up to you. Trust me I understand that when someone treats you rudely you want to respond the same way towards them, but don’t. You are better than them.

.

2. “Everything will be okay in the end. If it is not okay, it’s not the end.” John Lennon → Always stay hopeful, and don't focus on how hard things may be today, or this week, or even this month. Think of happy memories or future activities you are excited for.3. “Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think” Winnie the Pooh → Winnie the Pooh is right. In the moment of struggle you feel defeated, but once you move past the darkness you have become stronger and gained experience.4. “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light.” Albus Dumbledore → when bad things happen to us it is easy to become upset and fall into a bad mood, but there is a bright side to everything, just keep a positive outlook, no matter how hard it may seem there is always hope.

5.“Don't cry because it’s over smile because it happened.” Dr. Seuss → sometimes change makes us upset and scares us, but don't be sad when things change. Be thankful for your memories and lessons learned and carry that with you through life.

6. “Don't you worry child, see heaven's got a plan for you.” Swedish House Mafia →(Yes, I sang it when I read it too) worrying is hard to avoid, but it is pointless. Worrying does not help you in anyway it just exaggerates the negative thoughts in your head. Just relax and react to what happens.

7. “Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass it's about learning to dance in the rain.” Vivian Greene → You can't wait for things to get better, sometimes you have to make the best of the worst situation. Fake it till you make it, yes that's cliche, but eventually things do get better.

8. “Someone cares about you.” Unknown → even when you feel so alone and lost you have people who love you and care about you. It feels like no one does but I promise you there is always someone.

9. “Everything is temporary.” Unknown → sadness doesn't last forever, but neither does happiness, so enjoy every day of your life, and if you have a bad day the next one will be better.

10. Nothing is ever as bad as it seems, put in some headphones, take a nap and keep your head up. You can do this.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
