As someone who was born and raised in Boston, it is safe to say Marathon Monday is a big deal. It is a day where our city and state come together and support one another through our best and our worst. It is a day where everyone can let their problems go and just be with each other. After the events that took place in 2013 at the marathon, our Boston pride only became stronger. Although this day reminds us of the tragedy that Boston underwent, it is also a day where we can put the tragedy behind us and put our best foot forward. So on a more lighthearted note to make sure our spirits are lifted for this amazing day, here are the 18 thoughts that Bostonians who are not running have on Marathon Moday.

1. DROP EVERYTHING! MARATHON MONDAY IS FINALLY HERE!

2. I'm going to eat healthy today to pretend like I'm a fit person on this fine fit day.

3. Is it too aggressive to write 617 STRONG in sharpie across my forehead even though I live in Worcester? Of course not!

4. We need to get there NOW so I can actually SEE the runners!

5. This is the only day where traffic doesn't bother me.

6. Just kidding. MOVE OUT OF THE F***ING WAY YOU F***ING A**HOLE I NEED TO GET TO THE F***ING MARATHON

7. I'm going to walk around in my athletic attire so people think I'm an athlete too.

8. OMG HE/SHE'S RUNNING THE MARATHON? I KNOW THEM! I'M BASICALLY FAMOUS!

9. WOOHOOO GO RUNNERS GO! YOU GOT THIS! YOU MAY BE ON MILE 4 BUT YOU'RE ALMOST THERE!

10. I mean I said I was going to eat healthy, but I mean... marathon runners eat carbs so I can eat carbs right?

11. I think I lost my voice from all the screaming!

12. BOSTON STRONG! BOSTON STRONG! BOSTON STRONG!

13. OMG What is that guy wearing?!

14. I mean I may be out of breath after I run half a mile, but I think I can DEFINITELY run this next year if I start training now.

15. I'm definitely running the marathon next year. Consider it set.

16. I mean I'm probably not going to run the marathon next year but ONE DAY.

17. Wow I'm out of breath from all this WATCHING!

18. *on way home to a suburb 1 hour outside of Boston* "WOW! I AM SO GLAD I AM FROM BOSTON!"

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
