10 Things You Know to be True if You Grew Up With Sisters

1."Is that my shirt?!", "What, No!", "Yes it is!"- Stealing your sister's clothes.

Stealing your sister's clothes, it was a right of passage as a younger sibling

I am truly guilty of it, especially because having two older sisters who knew how to dress trendy, which was the way to the top in middle school. I always felt like a badass when I was wearing their clothes. Looking back at our styles, they were pretty bad though.

2. You either got along, or you didn't. There was no in between.

Growing up with two sisters was nice seeing that I was usually fighting with one of them so I had the other one to run to, and since I was the youngest sister I always either got stuck in the middle or they were both mad at me.

3. If someone picked on you at school they would "take care" of it.

You don't want to mess with my big sisters. Being the nerdy kid I was I got picked on a little, however when I came home upset my sisters would always reassure me it would be "taken care of".

4. You had one clean sister, and one REALLY messy sister.

Having grown up with three siblings we all shared rooms together, I was fortunate enough to get stuck with my younger brother for most of my childhood. But when my eldest sister went away to college I moved in with my other older sister, and man was that a challenge. Not that I didn't love the time I did share a room with her, but I am a closet slob and she is a closet neat freak, so you can say we have had our fair shares of fights over our room being clean.

5. You most likely snuck into their room and read their diary.

Not going to lie to you sisters anymore, but when I was a little kid I would totally sneak into your room and find your diary and read it, although I was always too scared to blackmail you with that information, so don't worry all your secrets are still safe with me. ;)

6. You all had matching outfits growing up.

Ah, the '90s the era of making children wear hideous matching clothing. As much as I love my sisters I really hated those matching outfit sets mom would shove us into for family pictures. However, I do miss the matching PJ sets grandma gave to us on Christmas Eve every year.

7. You most likely had fights about Barbies

I don't know about you, but as the youngest sister I got all the hand-me-down barbies and not all of them were in pristine condition, and a few times while playing we would fight over whose barbie it truly was.

8. You have nicknames for each other.

Still to this day my sisters call me by my childhood nickname, which is totally embarrassing, however I still call them by theirs.

9. Family vacations are not the same without them.

Now, that we are all adults taking road trips without them is sort of strange. I miss being stuck in the middle of traffic and dad yelling at us to stop bickering. I miss the fun adventures we would go on, or when we would prank each other or mom and dad. Vacations just aren't the same unless your sisters are there.

10. You will always love your sisters. No matter what.

I've learned that no matter what you can go through your sisters are always there for you. When no one else is left you will have them. They will always call you on your bullshit, and tell you it is okay when you make a mistake. Your sisters will always be your first best friends and your biggest cheerleaders because they are your sisters and they love you.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
