It's that time of year again so enjoy it before winter returns.

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year because it's still just warm enough to enjoy the last days of summer while anticipating the bitter cold of winter. There's change in the air from the warm summer breeze to the crisp, chill winds of the fall. There's change in what we do. And this is probably the most fun time of the year! Here are the top 10 things we can only ever look forward to and do in the fall.

1. Crunching through leaves on the sidewalk

There's nothing more satisfying than crunching through leaves on the sidewalk.

2. Watch the leaves change color

Seeing the leaves change color takes me back to when I used to drive to high school and see a mirage of colors lining the sides of the road. The diverse and bold colors blanket the city like patchwork.

3. Post cheesy Instagram photos

Once the temperature drops, the leaves start changing and falling, we all turn basic and post the most cheesy Instagram photos. These include, but are not limited to, pictures of coffee, walking through the leaves, pumpkin patches, and even the changing colors of the trees.

4. Go to an apple orchard

Two years ago I was fortunate enough to go to an apple orchard for the first time and it's still one of my favorite memories from my sophomore year. Not only did we have great weather and the sun to enjoy, but it was a perfect transition activity into the fall and I got to spend the day with some of my favorite people.

5. Carve a pumpkin

I may not be the best pumpkin carver around, but I've enjoyed trying my hand at carving a pumpkin every fall since I was a kid. Pumpkin carving is a fun activity to do with your SO or best friends on a day when it's too cold to move out of the house.

6. Celebrate Halloween

Ah yes, the infamous celebration of the fall season. This is the night to dress up without any limitations on dress code because anything is acceptable on Halloween. That’s reason enough to celebrate!

7. Visit a haunted house

I have yet to go to a 'legit' haunted house but it's something I've always wanted to do. The Thirteenth Floor is the haunted house I want to visit but I'd definitely need to go with a few people. House of Torment looks to be similar to the Thirteenth Floor, but the Dungeon of Doom seems to be the scariest.

8. Wear big sweaters and jeans/leggings again

Probably one of my favorite things is waking up, checking the weather outside and planning to wear jeans or leggings and a hoodie or a big sweater. It's such a comfortable combination and nothing beats the comfort of wearing big sweaters again...except for stealing your boyfriend's sweaters.

9. Enjoy the outdoors

One of the reasons I prefer the fall over the spring is that you can still enjoy the outdoors without being too warm and appreciate the fleeting warmth in preparation for the winter.

10. Thanksgiving

It's a hard toss-up between Halloween and Thanksgiving being my favorite holidays. Though, I would have to choose Thanksgiving for the joy of spending the holiday with family. Or spend Friendsgiving with your friends and make some of the best memories together.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
