Everybody has a few things laying around the house that we tell ourselves we are going to use, but deep down know we never will. Here's a few ideas of things to get rid of to that have been lingering in your house for just too darn long.
1. Shoes
Everybody has at least one pair of shoes from a long time ago, that hasn't been worn since 2010. Their only purpose in your house is to give your closet near the front door that weird smell that has been lingering for far too long. Throw those things away!
2. The Frozen Leftovers
Let's face it, there's some things in your freezer that you will never eat, so why waste the space any longer? Start off 2016 with a bang, and an empty freezer.
3. Chargers and Cords
Go in that drawer you have of all the weird chargers and cords you've ever owned and get rid of some of them. Half of them don't even work for anything that's been made since 2005.
4. Old Magazines
Do you really need 75 magazines about celebrity drama throughout 90's? How important is that Smithsonian magazine from 2006 about how Pluto isn't a planet anymore? You can clear out quite a bit of space from getting rid of all of your magazines you don't read anymore.
5. Condiment Packets
Whether it's the thousands of ketchup packets, or that soy sauce from panda express, you don't need it. You have a huge bottle of ketchup in your fridge and some soy sauce in your pantry so why even let them waste more room in your fridge?
6. Old Batteries
This might not be something that everybody does, but I'll be the first to admit it: I never throw away batteries. I leave them around and then when I need new batteries, I forget which ones are new and which ones are old and don't work. Throw all of your old batteries away to stop the confusion for good!
7. Holy Socks
If Santa didn't come through this year with new socks, treat yourself and buy some new socks. Throw away your socks that your big toe slips out of every time because there's a gaping hole in them. Wearing nice socks can be life-changing.
8. Broken Headphones
You might be able to find this in your drawer with cords and chargers, but again, WHY DO YOU STILL HAVE THESE? Unless you have a dog who still uses them for a toy to chew on, throw em' out!
9. Books and Folders
Why do you still have your stack of folders, binders, and notebooks? Unless you are planning on taking a 7th grade algebra class again, you won't be needing those any longer.
10. "Friends"
Last but not least, take those people who are constantly gossiping about you behind your back, and leave them in 2015! Don't make room for people in your life who clearly don't deserve it. A true friend is a person who only says good things about you when they are not with you.
