Being 4'11", I've heard so many short jokes and had people questioning me. All short people hear the same things over and over again. This is meant to be sarcastic and funny because being mean is not my forte. So, with that being said, here are 10 things short people are sick of hearing.
1. "Wow, you're short!"
No shit Sherlock. I was completely unaware that I'm short as you tower over me. Please, tell me more.
2. "How tall are you?"
None of your business. It's rude to ask a short person their height. How about asking how my day is? That would get a better response.
3. "You don't look your age."
Thank you Captain Obvious. I didn't realize that I look like a prepubescent teenager rather than a college student. Thank you, again, for informing me.
4. "Are you a dwarf/little person?"
This is beyond uncalled for. Asking someone if they have a form of dwarfism is so rude and insensitive. Whether I do or not is none of your business and disrespectful.
5. "Are you done growing?"
Are you done asking idiotic questions? Honestly, does it seem like I'm growing any more than I was the last time you saw me?
6. "Can you see up my nose?"
Yes I can and it's full of boogers. Go blow your nose and leave me alone.
7. "At least you know you'll be shorter than your significant other."
My height compared to my significant other isn't significant to you. I'd be with someone shorter or taller than me.
8. "If you marry a tall person you'll have average height babies."
Wow, you sure have this whole thing figured out! But don't forget, your kids will have an ugly soul because you will raise them to ask insensitive questions.
9. "Can I pick you up?
You can not and say you did. Or you can walk away before I go insane. I am so done with people thinking they can touch me because I'm short. Just go away.
10. "Can I use you as an arm rest?"
Get away from me. Good bye.
From all the short people, please stop using these. You'll be saving yourself and it's respectful to not ask or say these. Thank you.
