My parents raised me to be kind, respectful and courteous to all people. This courtesy could range from simply holding the door for a stranger or treating a friend to show in the city. Whatever the case, I was conditioned to do certain things, good things. But there are far too many “don’ts” in life that people are too selfish or ignorant to understand. The following are top ten things not to that will lead you to selflessness. Here are top 10 things not to do in life.
1. Don’t paint/clip your nails in public.
It’s unsanitary and unnecessary, do it at home.
2. Don’t block someone in.
Never create your own parking spot that disables someone from leaving. If there is an emergency, you could be the reason for a stranger’s death or harm.
3. Don’t walk four people in a row across a sidewalk.
This leaves little to no room for others to walk. Share the sidewalk.
4. Don’t litter.
Don’t throw things in the sewer because you can’t find a garbage, the trash will end up in the ocean. Don’t throw garbage out your car window; wait until you can find a garbage.
5. Don’t cheat on your significant other.
If you’re unhappy break up with them, simple as that.
6. Don’t ditch people.
Be someone who sticks to their word. If you tell a friend you’re going to see them, see them. You never know when your last time with them will be.
7. Don’t take shortcuts when addressing people.
Use coach for your coaches, Mr. and Mrs. for your teachers, Dr. for doctors and professor for college professors. They worked hard to earn that title, use it.
8. Don’t be an idiot with your food.
Just because something says, low fat or diet does not mean it is good for you. Avoid aspartame at all costs.
9. Don’t be get drunk and hook up with random people every weekend.
No matter how many times you are assured that it is cool, it’s not.
10. Don’t fit in, EVER.
Stand out.
