Firefly Music Festival, Dover DE

It looks different, it feels different. The long anticipated 2017 Firefly Music Festival line-up dropped at 10 am Friday and, it was the best way to kick start The Weeknd (see what I did there). There's a lot to talk about this year's upcoming festival. But let's start here: The Top 10 Things Going Through Your Head After the Firefly Lineup Dropped:

1. It's what we wanted!

Firefly has always been a festival for the fans, but this year is a special case. If you haven't heard, Firefly is officially a festival for the people!

2. Muse is FINALLY headlining!

For years the fans have begged Red Frog to bring on Muse and they finally listened! This isn't the only festival Muse is headlining however, I'm sure they will be most appreciated in the Woodlands.

3. Let's talk about Kesha real quick...

I know everyone is a little confused as to why on EARTH Kesha is crashing the party. But let's think about this for a second. There are plenty of random pop artist who have gone to Firefly before and none of their acts ended in catastrophe! Give this girly a chance, if anything, she will be fun to dance to when you're trashed.

4. The not-so-forgotten-porch-and-backyard-stage-little-guys

Our eye is drawn to the headliners, but taking a closer look at the lineup is the best thing we can do for ourselves.

(Cough-cough looking for good small acts? CHECK OUT Kaleo and 888 because I promise you don't want to miss their Firefly performance.)

5. Will these headliners top the past?!

If you've been to Firefly in the past, you know how lit the past few years have been. The bar was set pretty high after Paul McCartney performed.. but then Mumford and Sons stole the show the following year. Can The Weeknd live up to his predecessors or even surpass them?

6. Let's dig through the line up to find some new music...

Back to the little guys. Yes, they fill in the gaps between big performances. HOWEVER, hidden in the deep depths of the lineup are some amazing performers that you wouldn't have found otherwise. I highly recommend following the Unofficial Firefly Spotify Playlist, you'll have more fun in June if you get to know the little guys now!

7. Past vs. Present Lineup

With the announcement of the new line up comes a rummaging into the past lineups. Along with the question: Have they been before? It's fun to see who has already been to Firefly and, how they've climbed the line up. It was almost three years ago when Chance was featured on the small stage and now he's headlining...

8. The Physical Lineup

We all know the lineup was a total surprise.. But the format of the poster is completely different. Does this mean that the festival is going to look different too? Who knows what the Woodlands will look like this year, I'm good as long as they keep their hammocks.

9. Oh my gosh I should probably buy my ticket now..

The reason we go to Firefly is for the music. But the reason we keep going back is because it's a festival like no other. Get your camping passes NOW!

10. Let the Count down begin!

With the line up drop comes the count down! 130 days and counting folks, start packing and get ready for the Woodlands! If your heart was racing after seeing who was headlining, I highly recommend attending the big event. It's a concert you won't want to miss.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
