My love for The Sims franchise began when I was probably 6 years old when my older sister played the original Sims game with a friend, and they would spend HOURS doing, well, I wasn't sure. I decided to make my own neighborhood to see what all the hype was about. Once I started playing, I was addicted. For my 8th birthday, my aunt gave me "The Sims 2" as a present (wow, that was 11 years ago), and that was even better than the first Sims! I would spend entire snow days sitting at my desktop playing. So I guess it goes without saying that I pre-ordered "The Sims 3" and also "The Sims 4" when they announced they were making those. I am a self-admitted addict, and this list is for all of the people right here with me.
1. The frustration of trying to get your Sim AWAY from a fire is too real.
I mean, seriously, why won't they move?
2. Making yourself as a Sim, and then having yourself marry a celebrity.
Don't lie--we've all done it at least once.
3. Learning to strategically place furniture, because the Sims can't move if something is wrong.
And then they'll do that awful foot stomp, hand wave, yelling action so they can express to you, while breaking the fourth wall that they can't move!
4. In The Sims, getting those freaky anonymous phone calls was a nightmare.
Excuse me?
5. Admit it: you learned a little bit of Simlish somewhere down the road.
Maybe you don't know what they're saying, but you can definitely understand them.
6. Character creation always took forever.
Nothing will go right unless their hair and clothes are perfect.
7. Scratch that, building and furnishing a house took twice as long.
And just when you thought you were done, you realize you forgot to put floors in.
8. Because of this, you go big or you go home. There are pretty much two different types of custom-built houses in your neighborhood.
The mansions...
... and the not.
9. You fantasize about getting a job as easily as your Sims do.
I mean really, they don't even apply. No credentials required to get a job. You open the newspaper and start tomorrow. It's no wonder that the economy in the Sims world is so great.
10. The fascination with the Goth family never goes away.
Their creepy yet luxurious mansion? Sign me up.
And look at how Bella has changed through the series!
