10 Things Being A Daddy's Girl Taught Me

1. It’s Okay to like Sports more than Shopping

This one’s a no brainer. Who wants to waste their time mindlessly walking the mall, or trying on pants you know you will never actually buy anyway?

2. Always Tell it Like it is

Anyone who has ever asked their Dad a question that begs an honest answer has got one, whether they wanted it or not.

3. Never Settle

Every Daddy’s Girl has been blessed with the perfect example of how a man should love and respect her. Once you’ve had the best there is, it’s hard to go for anything less. Daddy’s girls know what they deserve because they are shown how they should be treated every single day.

4.You’ll Always be Down for a Little Competition

Let’s face it, you have a competitive nature. If there’s one thing your Dad taught you, it’s that losing isn’t an option. I mean if you can beat your dad in a game of one-on-one, then you can beat anyone right?

5.You Have your Own Personal Bodyguard

Take a second to say a prayer for the boy who hurts you, he’ll need one.

6. Someone will Always be There to Cheer You Up

Other’s can try to make you feel better, but no one really compares to Dad. He is always just a phone call away, and what’s even better is that he knows just the cheesy joke to pull you out of your funk.

7. Nothing Compares to a Father’s Love

As if this one wasn’t obvious enough.

8. Being Tough is Part of the Job

If only you had a dollar for every time your father told you to “toughen up”, that new car you want wouldn’t seem so out of reach.

9. Always Believe in Yourself

You know what you want and you know never to apologize for it. Dad raised you better than that.

10. Daddy Knows Best

Or he likes to think so. That’s what he has you for anyway.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
