Being up north you would think there isn't much to do. But there actually is a busy summer up here! There are some unique things we offer that you simply can't get in a city area. This leads to a relaxin,g yet joyful summer. Here are 10 things to do in Saint Helen and Roscommon, Michigan:
- Go for a four wheeling ride. There are multiple trails you can go down once you get your ORV sticker for the year. This is something to do outdoors and you can enjoy the warmth that we have for this summer.
- Go to the AYSO fields in Roscommon and start a pick-up game of soccer and be able to get in a great workout. Not only is this fun and active. Anyone can play and you get to hang out with you friends.
- Go to the Lake! Lake Saint Helen and Higgins Lake are perfect lakes to go and relax or go fishing for a couple of hours. Being in this area is a blessing because you can literally walk to Lake St. Helen and enjoy a day on the lake.
- Get involved with the community. Go to the high school games; participate in a 5k run, or volunteer! Within these two communities, you can easily find a business that is always looking for a little extra help.
- Head to Saint Helen and go to the Hen House or Peach Pit to get a great breakfast. You can easily get a breakfast for two under $20!
- Go for a bike ride. With living in a small town, you don’t have to worry about hitting heavy traffic or having a car hit you by accident. The traffic is perfect!
- Go to the park. You may be a little old to just go to the park, but you could always grab a football and have a small pick-up game or just throw the ball around. Its never bad to get in a light workout in.
- Attend Jena Romancky Hodnett’s Yoga sessions at the Charlton Heston Academy. Contact her for more details through Facebook!
- During the summer, Saint Helen has their Bluegill Festival that is right in town. Enjoy the time at the festival and if you are “too old” to go on the rides, there is a beer tent and multiple grown up events to go and watch.
- Go for a walk. With living up north, you have a beautiful scenery with a bunch of nature. Go in the trails for a great hike on Romancky Road. Or walk in town and see what is going on for the day!
