It's not easy being an over-emotional college student. Here are some of the struggles that people who cry way too easily face almost every day:
1. Being called overdramatic.
Do you think I want to be showing off my ugly cry face to the world? No, no I do not. I really cannot help the fact that I cannot control my tear glands whatsoever.
2. Tearing up at any slightly happy or sad moment.
I know it's crazy, but I really cannot control this crazy phenomenon going on in my head. Seeing people who are happy makes me cry and seeing people who are sad makes me cry.3. When people ask, "Are you crying?"
Probably. Refer to number two. But just because my eyes are tearing up does not mean you have to draw attention to it. Really. This happens pretty much every day.
4. Not being able to express anger.
Being angry and being sad are basically the same things for me because I just cry no matter what. I can't yell without my voice cracking in the middle of it and collapsing into a puddle of tears, so it's no wonder why I'm not considered intimidating at all.5. Always being tired.
Crying is one of the most tiring activities. After crying, I always feel ready to go to bed even if it is socially unacceptable to go to bed at 4 p.m.
6. People think it's cool to tell you how they never cry.
I don't understand, what you expect me to say?7. People who never cry think it's funny when you cry over something stupid.
OK, yes, I am probably laughing at how crazy I look, too. But I am not here for your entertainment, despite how entertaining it may be. I'm not asking for you to comfort me either. Please just ignore my insanity.8. You're always a mess when you leave a sad movie.
I shouldn't even bother wearing makeup if it's just gonna end up halfway down my face. I'm actually embarrassed to walk out of the theater and to my car.9. It's probably something you'll never grow out of.
10 years from now, when I'm an adult with a job, I will probably still be known as the over-emotional crazy girl who cries way too easily. It's become part of my identity.10. Most of the time, you don't even know why you're crying.
Am I sad, frustrated, angry or even happy? Who freaking knows, man.
All in all, crying is a normal part of human life. Especially my life.
