10 Songs That Are Underrated

1. Wherever You Are by 5 Seconds of Summer

This song hits me right in the feelings every time. Don't get me wrong, 'She Looks So Perfect' and 'She's Kinda Hot' are both amazing songs worthy of breaking into dance. This song, however, has all the emotion. It's one of those songs that puts you right in the moment until the song ends, when you realize you aren't pining over anyone miles away that you desperately want to call.

2. The Calendar by Panic! at the Disco

Not only is Panic! one of my favorite bands—because how can you not love Brendon Urie's voice?—this song feels incredibly relatable to me right now as my summer is on its metaphorical deathbed. Honestly, no song by this band could ever really be overrated, but this song could be shown a little more love. Even the oddly placed elevator music at the end of it has its merit.

3. If You Ever Want to Be in Love by James Bay

I love this song so much that every time I hear it I want to yell "Why don't people appreciate this song?!" James Bay has such a beautiful voice, and this breezy song feels so genuine that it's hard not to love it. 'Let It Go' is a great song, but this one is my all time favorites from Mr. Bay.

4. Mrs. Potato Head by Melanie Martinez

I feel how deep this song is whenever I hear it as if I were the one getting plastic surgery on myself. There are so many golden lines in this song, and unfortunately "No one will love you if you're unattractive" is one many people believe today—as if your appearance is more important than who you are as a person. This song is definitely worth a listen because it reflects the tragedy that is all the self-hatred in today's society.

5. If I Could Fly by One Direction

I distinctly remember that the first time I heard this song, I stopped everything I was doing just to listen intently to it (and cry a little). To me, this is the most beautiful One Direction song, written by a pretty beautiful human being: Harry Styles. This song is so perfect I'm going to stop describing it to you now and let you listen to it yourself!

6. Moondust by Jaymes Young

This man is incredibly underrated, and his voice is so smooth and alluring. If you can, you should listen to all his songs. This one is my favorite, though, and once again makes me feel his pain for a lover that is not mine.

7. Things We Lost in the Fire by Bastille

This might come as a surprise, but Bastille does have songs other than 'Pompeii'! Their entire 'Bad Blood' album is phenomenal, but this is the one song I like most. It's incredibly catchy and easy to sing along to.

8. Sky's Still Blue by Andrew Belle

If you hear this song and don't get emotional I seriously suspect you don't have a heart. Andrew Belle is another incredible singer, and this song makes me feel like I'm floating in space. It's so uplifting.

9. Fourth of July by Fall Out Boy

This is one of those songs you sing at the top of your lungs uncontrollably, and it's sung by such an amazing band. And you better believe it gets stuck in my head when the Fourth rolls around every year.

10. The Weight by Shawn Mendes

Let's start this last one with the fact that Shawn Mendes is so young and yet so talented. This song has so much raw emotion, and I can really see him going places in his future! He deserves this spot on my list.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
