Not only are zombies creepy, they are a cause of one of my obsessions: "The Apocalypse." I believe it will happen and when it does, I'll be ready for it! Here is my list of why zombies are so scary (but also the reasons why I can't get enough).
1. Their looks
They look scary. With pieces of flesh missing, bone exposed, the occasional limb missing and the mix of blood and dirt, they look terrifying. I'm sure the smell isn't pleasant either.
2. They bite
Have you ever been bitten? Just randomly or whatever the case, it hurts. Not to mention the bite breaks into skin and through organs and other body parts. Yikes!
3. It could really happen
I think it could. I mean look at some of the things going on in the world with people biting each others faces off and other random zombie-like activities.
4. They're almost like us
Yes, they were once human. But the undead is still similar, they are just immune to pain and hunger for brains. Oh and they're dead. However, they do not have superhuman power, strength or intelligence, but I think that adds to the scariness of them.
5. They multiply quickly
With one bite or scratch from the infected, you too become infected. Time varies when it comes to the switch from living to living-dead.
6. They're slow
They are slow, but effective. They are able to get where you are just by scent and just because they aren't powerful doesn't mean that they can't get what they want.
7. You might know at least one of them
If something happened in your hometown, you might know one of the infected. Could you kill your cousin's best friend's brother that you went to pre-school with? I don't know if I could.
8. They crave brains
They need it to help the pain go away, but that doesn't stop their insatiable appetite for all flesh.
9. They can't communicate
How awful to come in contact with someone who wants to eat your face off and they don't even say anything to you? I mean, at least tell me you're going to kill me.
10. They die and die and die
Unless you kill them correctly (injure their brains with a stab or a bullet to the brain) they will continue to attack. So in the face of panic, remember nothing will kill them until it does!
