Tony award winner, recent Grammy nominee, and color war champion, Ben Platt, exemplifies all qualities worthy of the word, iconic.

Following Ben's astounding run as Evan Hansen in the musical production of Dear Evan Hansen at the Music Box Theatre on Broadway, I found it necessary to reflect on all the reasons why he is worthy of a high-pitched fan-girl squeal, frantic hand wave, and bow of appreciation.

1. His raw unequaled talent as a performer

Whether it's causing violent eruptions of tears from Dear Evan Hansen audience members, winning hearts with awkward boyish charm as 'Benji' in Pitch Perfect, or capturing crowds in Book of Mormon, Ben's talent both vocally and through acting has allowed him to sweep through Hollywood with ease. He invests his soul in every performance, and therefore allows a personal connection to be made with each character he portrays.

2. His INSANE vocal range

I had the pleasure of seeing Ben perform in Dear Evan Hansen during his last week of performances. I'm positive I blacked out every time he rifted a note. How can one possibly have such vocal control? Clearly sorcery.

3. His love for Queen B

No one is a bigger Beyonce fan. We all relate and appreciate. *does single ladies shuffle*

4. He hates Tr*mp, and he's not afraid to show it.

Ben is never shy to state his political views on any social media platform. Platt vs. POTUS. We have your back, boo.

5. Broadway's Sexiest Man Alive

I think People magazine has my back on this one.

6. He's a Hufflepuff

Clearly, the best of people are Hufflepuffs. *cough* Not because I am also a Hufflepuff or anything *cough*

7. The. Dance. Moves.

No one moves hips in mauve plaid pants quite like him. Rock that 70's vibe, boo thang.

8. He reminded us that we are enough, just the way we are

In a time where the world is especially dark, he brings light to an issue that everyone has felt, but so few address: the feeling of worthlessness. He is a strong advocator for self-love and strength in individuality, which is something we all need to be reminded of.

9. He's an all-around cool guy

Often in the entertainment business, we find that fame corrupts. However, despite his celebrity status, Ben has exemplified the definition of the "adorably witty boy-next-door" persona. If sunshine could be personified, it would be Ben Platt.

10. He is worthy of fangirling over

Please see reasons above.

It's not often I take the time to type up an article glorifying an individual. In fact, this is my first one. I have never been the girl to lose her mind over a British boy-band, actor, or athlete she will never meet and never know personally. I've always been the relatively cool and collected chica, who enjoys witty sarcasm, writing, and anything musical theatre, who laughed at the idiocy of those who would lose their minds over celebrity men. Ben Platt, you ruined my streak. Thank you, sir. Much love.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
