10 Reasons Why Living In Nashville Is The Best City To Live In

What's it like to live in Music City you ask? Everyone has their own opinion about living here, but I absolutely love it! Nashville, is its own city and unique compared to others. It's booming now a days and the traffic is getting worse. There is always something to do downtown, midtown, or outside of the city. Downtown has free live music ranging from country, rock, blues, or jazz. If you don't like one place you can always bar hop to the next. Another great thing about living in Nashville is the free concerts, free events downtown, and the food trucks. Yes, you'll see celebrities from time to time but to be honest we treat them like anyone else. They don't want to be bothered and don't ask to take a picture with them. It's a rule here in Nashville, even though I've been guilty of doing it a few times.

Here are 10 great things about living in Nashville (Music City):

1. Free Concerts.

One of the many great things about living in Nashville are the concerts. From time to time the artists will randomly decide to throw on a concert for the city. Just to name a few like Cole Swindell/ Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt, Old Dominion, Hunter Hayes, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, and Brad Paisley.

2. CMT Awards.

One of the other fortunate things about living in Nashville is having the CMT Awards /CMA Awards here. For instance, you may get lucky and have Jake Owen crowd surfing right in front you in a pool. If you haven't experienced either of these I highly recommend going. It is a really good time!

3. Arrington Vineyards.

Arrington Vineyards is thirty minutes south of Nashville. Bring a picnic basket, some cheese, grapes, and drink a glass of wine while over looking the picturesque views. It's really pretty scenery and you can enjoy a tour if you'd like. They also have a barn with blue grass music that plays every night, I believe.

4. Country Music Hall of Fame.

The Country Music Hall of Fame is located downtown on 5th avenue. It's one of the world’s largest museums and research centers dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of American vernacular music.

5. Nashville Baseball.

Nashville is lucky to have a minor league baseball team. They just built the new stadium, which, includes a scoreboard in the shape of a guitar (how convienent right?) During the summer you can enjoy a fun night at one of the games. You can get a nice cold drink, some food, join in on singing, dancing, contests, or mini putt putt.

6. Jackalope Brewing Company.

Nashville, has many unique brewing companies that you can chose from to tour or just go and grab some beers and hang out. One of them is the Jackalope Brewing Company, which is located in the city of Nashville. Grab a beer, play some games outside, or just enjoy the beer and good time with friends.

7. The Murals.

Nashville, is known for all the creative murals around the city. You can chose from a variety whether it's the I believe in Nashville mural, I believe in Smashville, The Spread your wings, or East Nashville. GO EXPLORE THEM!

8. Concerts at Bridgestone.

Nashville, with being the country city is always filled with country concerts and special guests performing on tour. I absolutely love it because I get to see all my favorite artists all in one concert. I'd definitely recommend coming to Nashville for a weekend, experiencing downtown and a concert.

9. Live on the Green.

Live on the green is a music festival that is free downtown that normally starts in August and goes till sometime in September. There are loads of food trucks, tents with apparel, tents with first aid, tents with activities to do and more. You can't go wrong going at all.

10. Downtown.

Downtown, You can't go wrong going to any of the bars. Whether its Acme Feed and Seed, The Stage, Crazy town, Famous Saloon, Honky Tonk, Tootsies, or Rock Bottom you will have a good time! My friends and I love going downtown from time to time. **Helpful tip: when you go downtown you can do lyft, uber, or park in the parking lot by the pedestrian bridge located near the titans stadium.

Predators game are a MUST to go to when downtown.

Vanderbilt Football games are also a good time!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
