11 Reasons to Love the Fall

Who doesn't love a nice hot chocolate in chilly weather?

The fall of 2017 is rapidly approaching and I couldn't be more excited. I love nice weather and beach days, don't get me wrong, but there is literally nothing better than the fall. These are a few reasons why I love the fall out of the 37,493,729 reasons I have.

1. Crunch leaves changing colors.

OK but honestly: how can you dislike apple picking? Eating a nice, big red apple along the path of apple trees and picking out the best looking ones. Seriously, how can you hate the fall when you can pick apples?

4. The weather.

I will admit it gets annoying when it's 70 degrees one day and 45 the next, but throwing on some cute layers of clothes is the best. Leggings, boots, and a scarf are calling my name.

5. Fall clothes.

Leggings or cute jeans, boots, a messy bun, and a cute scarf?! Can life get any better? I don't think so.

6. Pumpkins.

As messy as it is, getting together with friends and picking out pumpkins and carving them together is so much fun. There are so many different ways to cut a pumpkin and designs to play around with. Stick a candle in 'em and put them on your porch. They're so adorable.

7. Football games.

High school football games are going to be some of the things you remember for years after you graduate. There's nothing better than getting together with your friends, tailgating in the parking lot, and then watching your team play for a few hours.

8. Hot chocolate.

I honestly don't even like hot chocolate that much. But getting a Dunks hot chocolate before I go out anytime in the fall is essential. Sometimes there's so many different flavors and it keeps you and your hands warm, too.

9. Halloween.

Whether you're twelve or twenty, you can still dress up and have so much fun on Halloween. To this day, I get excited picking out a costume and going out with my friends. Whether we go to a party or into Salem, MA it's always so much fun to be around everyone dressed up.

10. Disney Halloween Movies.

Halloween Town, Twitches, Hocus Pocus, Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire, I could go on and on. Disney movies were some of the best parts of my childhood, but nothing beats sitting down watching Halloween Town. Best. Movie. Ever.

11. Corn Mazes.

Whether it's just a fun corn maze during the day or a haunted corn maze at night, they really are a lot of fun. Get a group of friends and try and find your way out! Sometimes they even have hay rides afterward that are just as fun too.

A New England fall is like none other and I wish everyone got to experience the fall like I do. I could truthfully could go on and on for hours about what I love about the fall. As much as I love the summer, there really isn't any other season that compares to fall.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
