10 Reasons Fall Is The Superior Season

Fall doesn't OFFICIALLY start until the 21st of September, but the second the month starts, we all start to feel it. Not only is it my birthday this month, it's my favorite season and what I feel is the highest ranking of them all for the following reasons:

1. Perfect Temperature

Fall in Michigan is more or less on point. This is the time of year when it's cool-ish but still sunny and welcoming outside. It's not too cold and it's not too hot - it appears to be that weird in-between temperature.

2. The COLORS

You might hate it when it starts to get colder outside, but you cannot beat nature's gift to us - talk about pure and magical bliss.

3. Cider Mills

Most cider mills in Michigan open near the end of August - which on all accounts is wonderful because cider and donuts are an absolute must every year! You may even decide that you'd like to get a pumpkin for Halloween.

4. Fresh Air

Whether this is done by going outside and taking a deep breath or leaving your windows open in the house - your nose will thank you.

5. ALL THE HOLIDAYS

Fall starts the line of Holidays or people through many different religious and personal backgrounds - how cool is that?

6. Halloween

Even though September is a complete month before October officially begins, people typically prep their houses and selves for the festivities at hand.

7. Sunflowers

Although sunflowers are planted in May/June, they are full bloom during the months of July-September. Aside from adding a pop of color every where you go, sunflowers remind me of happiness and warmth. Sunflowers have the word SUN in their very name, thus ensuring the sheer essence of their awesomeness.

8. Hot Beverages

Yes, you can drink hot beverages at any point in time during the year, but this is the time to break out the cocoa that you've stashed away or the apple cider (or if you're into pumpkin spiced drinks... I guess there's that too).

9. Sweaters/Fuzzy-Warmth

I didn't want to be too specific with this one because not everyone likes sweaters; however, people tend to have warm and fuzzy blankets, shirts, sweaters, jackets, etc. to get them through pre-snow.

10. Snuggling

Whether this is with your partner, your child/children, or your fur-babies - this is prime time to get really close to those you love the most and exchange warmth and momentary bliss (or you know... put your cold feet on them, that's always funny).

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
