1. The unconditional love.
Let's face it, everyone in your life pales in comparison when it comes to the genuine love and affection that your furry little friend has for you.
2. They make home feel just a bit more like ... home.
There is no better feeling than coming home to your insanely, over-excited pup who is practically going into cardiac arrest over the fact that you came back. It's almost as if time plays absolutely no part in the level of excitement; whether you've been gone for five minutes or five hours, rest assured that it'll be as if you two haven't seen each other in years.
3. They're basically humans, just a bit more fluffy.
This might just pertain to my freakish dogs who have somehow convinced themselves that they are above the whole "canine" status.
4. No judgment.
For those times that you let it slip your mind that they are, in fact, not humans and told them all about your problems. They stuck around and listened to it all, partially because you're the one that feeds them, but mostly because they love you.
5. No one else knows just how weird you really are.
They have seen you at your absolute weirdest times and, arguably, at your best because you were being exactly who you are. They've been there to witness it all, and guess what? They still love you just as much.
6. They're just so darn cute.
7. They are the ultimate support system.
Whether you are sick on the couch, come home crying or are just having an off day, you know who's going to be right there by your side every step of the way.
8. They may not be able to tell you how much you mean to them, but you know.
While we can all agree on how awesome it would be if our furry friends could talk, they don't need to in order for us to know how much they love us. We just know.
9. Life would be a whole lot less entertaining without them.
They're great friends AND great teachers.
10. They're not just pets, they're family.
