1. They have unconditional love for you.

They didn't get the nickname "man's best friend" for no reason. A dog will love you endlessly with no strings attached. You pet them, they love you, it's easy.

2. They will never get bored of your company.

The most exciting part of my day is walking through the door when I get home and seeing my two dogs. It seems as if they have been waiting all day for me to come home. How sweet is that? I made their day just by walking through the door. How many people can you say love you like your dog does?

3. They are simple.

Eat. Sleep. Play. Those are the only things that go through their mind. They don't stress over the small stuff like humans do. They don't worry if their hair looks good or what color to paint their nails. They only worry about the important stuff.

4. They understand you.

No matter what your dilemma is a dog can make you feel better. Finals week, headache, maybe just a little sad, find a puppy and I guarantee it will improve your well being.

5. They are always happy.

There is no such thing as mood swings when it comes to dogs. There is only one mood for dogs and it is happy. Their constant positivity and energy is contagious. You might be in a bad mood but a dog can make up for it with just one look.

6. They listen to your problems with no complaints.

Dogs love to hear people rant. Yeah, they have no idea what you are saying but yet they understand you. Whatever that person did to ruin your day your dog understands and they support you 100%. Plus you are free to rant to a dog and there is no possible way they are going interrupt you.

7. There is no judgment and they are completely loyal to you.

They will never tell you that you did something wrong because in their eyes you're perfect. People play such a big role in dog's lives. Dogs see their owners as family and they rely on us.

8. They are always up for a run/walk.

Who needs a workout partner when you have a dog? A dog is always up for a walk/run. Any type of activity with their owner, they are all in. With dogs its so much easier because there's no coordinating, you just grab the leash and go.

9. They don't hold a grudge.

Maybe you might have done something to upset your pup but no worries. Just give it a few minutes and you two are back to normal. There's no awkward conversations and apologies it just goes right back to where you were. This is because no one gets you quite like your dog.

10. They appreciate the small things.

Like I said earlier "dogs are simple". They don't need parties or celebrations. They just want a treat or maybe an ice cube every once in a while. Showing love to you dog is so much easier than to a human. All you have to do is scratch behind their ear and throw a tennis ball.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
