It is that latter half of the year where the trees change from a magnificent forest green to the wonderful red, orange and yellow shades that we have associated with the season of Fall. Sweater weather has arrived along with the excitement that flutters in with the fast-approaching holiday of Halloween. Now, for everyone that knows me, I usually put along mood music to listen to as you read the article. But, this week will just be music. I will be giving you 10 K-Pop Songs that are perfect for this season Fall/Halloween season.
1.VIXX- Voodoo Doll
Voodoo Doll is absolutely perfect for your Halloween playlist, VIXX has that perfect horror vibe that you have been waiting for! Delivering an addictive beat that has you dancing in your seat. These concept kings always deliver no matter what song they put out.
2.BTS- Dead Leaves
For more of a slower vibe, I recommend listening to Dead Leaves. There are soothing vocals from BTS vocalists Jungkook, V and Jimin but still strong rap verses from rappers Suga, J-Hope and Rap Monster. The lyrics discuss break-ups and new beginnings, those leaves dying.
3.Sunmi- Full Moon
Sunmi, a female solo artist that came from the popular JYP group Wonder Girls put out this enchanting song in 2014. The song compliments this holiday with the theme of vampires but also the sultry and romantic vibes it gives off. Sadly, Wonder Girls disbanded as of early 2017 but Sunmi herself is still promoting and just put out her new song Gashina.
4. Taeyeon- Stress
Taeyeon is another female solo artist with a background in the spotlight in Girls Generation (SNSD). Stress is one of the B-Side tracks from her Debut Album I. It talks about the stressing situations of dating, however, I believe that we all understand when Fall comes around so does school. And that can be a stressful time for all of us.
5. BlackPink- Playing with Fire
This song is more for the upbeat moments with a simple dance that anybody could learn. BlackPink is a new girl group that debuted in 2016 under YG Entertainment. A lot of their music is hip-hop and EDM influenced but these girls still know how to sing a beautiful ballad if needed. This also came out on Halloween!
6.Twice-TT (Happy 1 Year!!)*
*As I am writing this article on the 23rd of October, it is techincally the one year anniversary of TT*
TT is a cheery song off of Twice's 3rd Mini Album TWICEcoaster:Lane1 where this was there title/promotion track. This music video is very Halloween and shows of some cute costumes. Another song that has an easy and fun dance.
7.EXO-Monster
Darker vibes, makeup, and concept for the 9-Member boy group EXO. EXO builds upon an ongoing story-arch through each of their music videos that you have to start from the beginning to understand. And I highly recommend that you do.
8.J-Hope (BTS)- Boy Meets Evil
This rap was written, choreographed and performed by a BTS Member J-Hope. I know I mentioned BTS earlier but...this needed its own spot. The song talks about falling into evil's clutches and how hard it is to truly let it go because it is so sweet. As well the fluidity and movement of the choreography by J-Hope is truly something anyone could appreciate.
9.APink- LUV
Beautiful fall settings while reminiscing of past love. This song might sad but it is definitely worth the listen. Can we turn back time? Do you remember the time we spent together?
10. Sejeong (Gugudan)- Flower Way
Just listen to her voice. The music and her vocals just blend so perfectly together. Shut your eyes and imagine yourself walked among the color changing trees, the crisp crunch under your feet as you walk. It is just perfect music to walk to and have a quiet thought to yourself. Sejeong is from a girl group called Gugudan and before that was in a group called I.O.I
There are so many amazing songs in K-Pop that have a fit for every mood so I suggest looking into these songs and possibly venturing out into other songs as well. Hope you guys have a spooktacular Halloween and enjoy the rest of this Fall season.
