We're known for a lot of things in Ohio: the Ohio State buckeyes, our various colleges, and a climate that seems to change overnight. But there's another thing you should add to that list: cool restaurants. Yep, Ohio's definitely got some. So check out these 10 places the next time you want to find somewhere to eat! Enjoy!

1. Melt Bar & Grill

Located in the Short North and at Easton, this restaurant offers up any variation of grilled cheese plus fun extras like a happy hour and even a challenge where you can order 3 slices of grilled bread, 12 cheeses, a pile of fries slaw and pickles! That challenge was featured on the television show Man vs. Food in 2009, so be sure to check it out!

2. Thurman's Cafe

This cafe in German Village features tons of burgers, including one with two 12 lb. patties and a heaping pile of mushrooms, ham, onions, tomato and lettuce. They also have fun appetizers, like fried pretzel bites or cheesy fried burrito bites. If you're in the mood for a hearty meal, this would be a good place to go!

3. Westerville Grill

If you're looking for easy and affordable food, look no further than this Westerville staple. The diner hosts all-day breakfast, yummy fries and classics like meatloaf and fish & chips. Oh, and did I mention they have a new selection of pie, like, all the time? Because they do, and it's wonderful.

4. Chef-O-Nette Restaurant

This cute diner located in Upper Arlington features quick eats like sandwiches, soups and of course, breakfast foods with nothing costing more than $10 (well, if you add in one of their amazing appetizers or yummy milkshakes, then add on another $5 bucks....but it's worth it).

5. Primavista

If you're feeling fancy, you should definitely visit Primavista in Cincinatti. It's got great wines, but also has a ton of specified options as far as foods (read: vegeterian/vegan and gluten-free). Very handy indeed; plus will you look at that view? So gorgeous, you really cannot beat it.

6. Marcella's

If you love Italian food, then you should make Marcella's your go-to spot. There's one in Polaris and the other is in Columbus (High St. area) – both feature the same lovely pasta dishes (alfredos, spaghettis, etc.) as well as an assortment of pizzas, meat dishes (chicken parmesan, anyone?), wines/spirits/drinks and risottos. It's like heaven on earth, I swear.

7. Strip Steakhouse

Located in Cleveland, this joint is the best around for prime steak and cuts of pork. They also feature some seafood, like lobster ravoli, crab basket and a lobster bowl. You can also order a full dinner for two, including two appetizers, two entrees with two sides and a dessert. Make your reservation now!

8. Kengo Sushi

Speaking of fish, if you're in the mood for sushi, then head to this Toledo restaurant to get your fix. Kengo features daily selections of salmon, spicy tuna and hamachi, just to name a few. If you're in the mood, you can also try 12 different food items in a two hour course where the chef prepares the food in front of you. How cool is that?

9. Katalina's

If you're looking for something trendy and unique, try out Katalina's. They have tons of soups, salads, and have these legendary pancake balls – so cute. And if you love tacos, they've got a whole bunch to choose from. It's basically a one-stop shop for breakfast or lunch really. So head over to Penneslyvania Ave. in Columbus when you get the chance!

10. Casa Nueva Restaurant & Cantina

If you are obsessed with Mexican food, then I'd highly recommend this awesome cantina. Casa Nueva in Athens boasts breakfast (veggie scrambles for example), lunch (anyone want burritos?) and dinner, plus seasonal dishes. They also have entertainment, like live music and art shows. If you want the whole experience, I'd consider this place for sure.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
