I know I always struggle with picking a resolution. And then, when I actually do, I NEVER stick with it. I don't even remember my resolution from last year because I gave it up after such a short amount of time. I have yet to decide on a resolution for 2017, but when I do, I'm choosing one that I know I can and will keep.

1. Go With Your Gut

The majority of the time, your first choice is the best choice. Take your first instinct and run with it.

2. Quit Putting Things Off

I'm probably the worst culprit of procrastination. But seriously, I've been getting better. Just stop making paper airplanes, and get shit done.

3. Don't Be Afraid Of Change

Change is good, if not the best thing that can happen. There is a reason for everything that happens in life, and changes are part of the package deal.

4. Of Course, NEVER Change Yourself

If a person is forcing you to conform to their belief of "normal" or how a person should be or act, drop them and avoid that like the plague. You are you, a beautiful you, who does not need to change for anyone.

5. Learn One New Thing

Whether it be a new language, yoga, or your family's lineage, learn something new and make it a part of you. Take pride in what you know and what you are learning.

6. Live in the Moment, not from Behind a Screen

I know that it's hard in this-day-and-age to not want to document everything that we do. Take in the moments as they are happening rather than having to watch a video of something and not having any memory of what happened.

7. Be Kind

When you wake each morning, think of something kind you can do for not only yourself, but also for someone else that day. When you bring a smile to others, you bring a smile to yourself.

8. Make a Donation to One Charity You Care About

This goes hand-in-hand with being kind, but if you truly care about something, you'll fund it or advocate for it right?

9. Say "Yes" More Often

Stop saying "no" to plans, you'll make plenty of memories this way. Plus, you'll actually understand inside jokes if you go to that haunted house that you've said "no way" to for plenty of years.

10. Start Planning

You're more likely to get something done if it's written down. Write everything you need to do, when events are, and where you need to be down in a planner or on a to-do list.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
