Thanksgiving day is a holiday many people look forward to, especially college students. It's time away from the stress and chaos of classes and work. A long weekend with your family asking you what you are doing with your life. Most importantly, it's time to stuff your face with all the home-cooked dishes you want!
1. Turkey
Thanksgiving Day, also known as Turkey Day, would not be complete without its main dish. Whether you bake, fry, or grill your turkey, it is an absolute must; where else would you put the stuffing? Plus, there's always enough left over to have turkey sandwiches for a week.
2. Stuffing
What else would look that delicious coming out of a turkey's hole? Whether it is corn bread stuffing or the Stovetop boxed stuffing, that turkey needs to be filled with some type of delicious breading.
3. Potatoes
Sweet potatoes, chunky mashed potatoes, mashed potatoes with the skin... you get the idea. There are a bunch of different ways to serve potatoes, my favorite being sweet potato casserole. No matter which way is your favorite, potatoes definitely belong on the table for thanksgiving.
4. Mac and Cheese
I'm not talking about that cheap Easy Mac that you live on at school; I'm talking about real home-made mac and cheese. Real thick, creamy, rich cheese covering whatever type of noodles you prefer... could it get any better?
5. Corn
On the cob or off the cob this has been a tradition for Thanksgiving since the Pilgrims.
6. Green Beans
Gotta get your veggies in!
7. Cranberry Sauce
This just adds some more color to your plate... if you can squeeze it on.
8. Rolls
The hotter the better! Also great for turkey sandwiches all week.
9. Gravy
Gravy is needed to cover the turkey and potatoes; they'd be too dry without it.
10. Pie
Someone once told me that you have an extra stomach just for desserts, which is really useful on this day. Pumpkin pie, apple pie, cranberry pie, any kind you want really. You have to finish your meal with some type of dessert.
