I'm a proud theatre kid, and I am not afraid to bust out in song. From "Hamilton" to "Aladdin," these musicals teach an important lesson.

1. "Hamilton"

Giphy

"Hamilton" offers knowledge about important events in American history while also being wildly entertaining with the well thought out score and writing.

2. "Wicked"

Giphy

"Wicked" strikes as a typical Good vs. Evil but I believe that most importantly, it teaches you to be yourself because there is nothing more important.

3. "Rent"

Giphy

Above anything, love is the most important thing and should not be discriminated against. We were all made to love and respect each other despite physical differences and other characteristics.

4. "Hairspray"

Giphy

While this musical is fun and makes you wanna dance, it also touches on the topic of racism during an incredibly crucial time and how we judge others. Everyone is equal and should be treated as such.

5. "Grease"

Giphy

I absolutely love the soundtrack of this musical and it teaches that maybe we shouldn't worry so much about what people think about us. As long as we're happy then that's what matters.

6. "West Side Story"

Giphy

Two feuding families are determined to tear two lovers apart but sometimes that will only encourage them more.

7. "Beauty And The Beast"

Giphy

This musical teaches us that looks can be deceiving and that we should focus on someone’s heart and soul versus their outward appearance.

8. "The Greatest Showman"

Giphy

While fame and fortune is rewarding, it isn’t everything. You can’t let yourself get caught up in it or else you’ll lose all of the people close to you.

9. "Aladdin"

Giphy

"Aladdin" teaches us to not let greed take over or there will be consequences. Many of the characters were greedy is various ways, with money and power mostly.

10. "Mamma Mia!"

Giphy

It’s okay to be a single parent and more power to you! Most importantly, family comes before anything. They are the ones who will always be there for you no matter what.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
