10 Movies To Watch When You're Forever Alone

1. 500 Days of Summer

It’s endearing to watch as the quirky Tom Hansen (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) lusts after the equally quirky Summer Finn (Zooey Deschanel). While watching, the hopeless romantic in us can’t help but wish we could eventually meet that person who likes the “same bizzaro crap” that we do. But, as the movie warns within the first minute, it isn’t technically a love story. So you don’t have to deal with the nauseatingly unrealistic nonsense most romance movie spoon-fed you. Pour a glass of wine and pop some popcorn, this one’s a winner.

2. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Again, if you’re looking for a Nicolas Sparks grade romance, this movie isn’t for you. However, if you are searching for a bizarrely atypical love story with an incredible soundtrack that f***s with your mind-- Eternal Sunshine is for you. Plus, it is pretty cool to see Jim Carrey in a serious role for once.

3. Stuck in Love

What makes Stuck in Love so unique is it follows three different relationship storylines-- a divorced couple, a girl who saw love as a fallacy, and a first love. A part of you could probably relate to a component of each of the romances.

5. The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Nothing makes you more nostalgic for your awkward and amazing high school crush than Perks. Watching the relationship between Charlie and Sam unfold strikes a chord with anyone who had that one person who kept them up at night.

6. Say Anything

Everyone could use a person in their life who would blast Peter Gabriel on a boombox to get their attention. Say Anything is by far the most underrated of the classic 80s movie list.

7. Up

Yes, that’s right-- Up. The opening sequence with Carl and Ellie's young romance is enough to tug at your heartstrings and bring you to waterfall-esque tears. Break out the tissues.

8. Dirty Dancing

If you choose to watch Dirty Dancing, be prepared to laugh, cry, and bop your head back and forth to the classic soundtrack.

9. The Notebook

Duh. Nothing more needs to be said.

10. Juno

Ever think you’d find yourself wanting to date Michael Cera? Probably not-- that is, until you watch Juno. On the list of quirky, indie romance movies-- Juno is definitely a must-see.
