10 Love Songs You Should Be Listening To Right Now
Christianne Taylor

Summer love is in the air. Some may be sitting at home, texting and thinking about their long-distance sweetheart miles away. Others may be home getting ready for a date at the beach or thinking about that cute boy/girl in chemistry class who’s been texting you non-stop since spring semester ended.

Whatever the case, here's a list of ten songs you can dance and sing to the tune of love.

1. "I really Like You" by Carly Rae Jepson

Ever since Carly Rae Jepson came out with this new single from her third album, "I Really Like You" in March, it won't un-stick from my head. It’s inevitably playing whenever I’m around my beau! It’s honestly a mix of annoying and fun at the same time. I can't help it, I mean I really, really, really, really, really, really, really like him.

2. "Tee Shirt" by Birdy

Many raged over the movie, "The Fault in Our Stars," when it came out last year, but Birdy's song "Tee Shirt" still lingers around when we're missing the people who hold the keys to our heart.

3. "Sugar" by Maroon 5

"Sugar, yes please!" Our hearts require sugar and sweetness. When life gets sour or harsh, our dear ones are there to pick us up and liven up our lives like dessert. "Sugar" on Maroon 5's album "V" is a song sweet teeth delight in.

4. "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa, featuring Charlie Puth

Whiz Khalifa's song is a must for all those long-distance-relationship troopers out there. "See You Again," a track on the "Furious 7" soundtrack, is actually a tribute to Paul Walker who died in November 2013 after a car crash. RIP.

5. "You & I" by John Legend

We all want to feel beautiful. We were made to love and be loved. John Legend, in his second single from "Love in the Future," sings about his only one. He even features his beloved, Chrissy Teigen, in his video.

6. "How Long Will I love You" by Ellie Goulding

In 2013 Ellie Goulding remade this 1990 song on her album "Halcyon Days." It's also featured in the movie "About Time" and will make any heart cry.

"We're all traveling through time together, every day of our lives, all we can do is do our best, to relish this remarkable ride" — "About Time"

7. "I Don't Dance" by Lee Brice

Sometimes we do stuff we would never do, but when you love someone so much, it's kind of hard not doing something that lights up their face with a gorgeous smile. Country singer Lee Brice wrote this single in 2014 with co-writers Rob Hatch and Dallas Davidson.

8. "Everything Has Changed" by Taylor Swift ft. Ed Sheeran

This 2012 hit on Swift's album "Red" is for when your life hits a spiral, and you realize you have to talk to the cute gal or guy who keeps glancing towards you in the coffee shop on Sunday afternoons. Stop playing games and go say "'Hello' and dust off your highest hopes." ;)

9. "Bright" by Echosmith

The 2015 song on the album "Talking Dreams" by the four Sierota siblings from California reveals how love can make us see the world in a different, more beautiful way.

"You make me sing 'oooh, la la la' You make a girl go 'oooh' I'm in love, love"

10. "L-O-V-E" by Nat King Cole

Nat King Cole's song "L-O-V-E" is on his last album "L-O-V-E" released in 1965. I couldn't NOT post a classic love song. Love lives on in every single generation. It may dance to a different beat but nevertheless, "love, was made for me and you."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
