10 Life Lessons You Can Learn From DJ Khaled's Snapchat

You know DJ Khaled from his catchy rap songs and his insanely long, but extremely addicting Snapchat stories. You find yourself saying "bless up" and "major key" on a regular basis, but don't realize that you are actually learning a few lessons of substance from religiously watching DJ Khaled's life through a screen. There are a few things you can learn from Khaled besides his major Snapchatting skills and unique lexicon.

1. Persistence is key (major key).

DJ Khaled knows that success does not come without work. He always encourages his fans to keep pushing no matter what and to never give up, which is an important life lesson.

2. Don't forget to show your fans some love.

Khaled rarely goes a day without meeting his fans at a random location in L.A. He knows he's lucky to have thousands of fans who are willing to drop everything and go meet him, or even just catch a glimpse of him from afar. As Khaled would say himself: "fan luv, always a major key."

3. Make sure you look fresh at all times.

DJ Khaled gets his hair cut and beard shaved more than anyone I know. Never underestimate the power of a new 'do. Fresh cut = key to success.

4. Don't go anywhere without a positive attitude.

Between his motivational speeches about pretty much anything and his encouraging words about life in general, DJ Khaled is definitely a believer in the power of positive thinking. And you should be too, because studies show that it actually works!

5. Realize that you are fortunate (aka BLESS UP).

There is no occasion where you should not be thankful, even when you're taking your morning shower. Bless up applies to anything from pictures of food to selfies with friends to hanging out with your thousands of loyal followers. So be thankful, and don't forget that you're #blessed.

6. Hygiene is crucial.

The importance of bathing and face-washing cannot be overestimated. Look good, feel good. It's even okay to take selfies in the shower because it shows your friends that you're just that good at being clean. Oh, and make sure you're using cocoa butter, because Khaled swears by the stuff.

7. Haters gonna hate, hate, hate.

In the words of the king himself, "Smh they get mad when you have joy smh," and "They will try to close the door on u. Jus open it." Ignore the invisible "they" that keeps you from taking risks and reaching your goals. You do you, and if they don't want you to jet ski, then they're just wrong.

8. Celebrate responsibly, but still celebrate.

As a rap star and Snapchat legend, Khaled attends his fair share of VIP parties and events. He cautions his followers to celebrate responsibly, but still have fun. He can most commonly be found in a corner drinking fruit Ciroc flavors and videoing himself to put it on his story for the Snapchat world's viewing pleasure.

9. If you go with the flow, anything goes.

You can make inspirational quotes and tag lines about anything, even bamboo and dolphins.

10. Every successful day starts with a balanced breakfast.

Whether it's a bowl of cereal or a full plate of traditional breakfast food, Khaled almost always starts his Snapchat stories off with a picture of his breakfast. Some of Khaled's favorites: egg whites, turkey sausage, and bottled water (bless up for staying hydrated). He'll also likely photograph everything he'll eat or drink for the rest of the day, so stay tuned for some Insta-worthy food pics.

DJ Khaled took the world by storm by simply using his Snapchat and photographing and videoing his every move. Add him on Snapchat at djkhaled305 and let his motivational speeches change your life.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
