With Christmas less than the start of ABC Family's 25-day countdown away, it's time to start participating in festive events. Sometimes though, with temperatures dropping so low that walking to the mailbox is a painful experience, we have to look for indoor activities. Luckily, a movie marathon can be both fun and festive, if you plan it just right.

Here is exactly what you need for a cheery night cozied up by the glowing light of your television screen:

1. Essential Christmas movies

Without movies, the movie marathon would probably be a dud. Some suggestions include; Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Eloise at Christmastime, Home Alone, A Christmas Story, The Polar Express, and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

2. Warm beverages

If hot chocolate is your cup of tea, make some of that. If tea is your cup of tea, have some tea. If you’re more into a nice cup of coffee, and you don’t mind being up all night, by all means, make yourself a nice latte or something. It’s the Holidays. General rules of thumb have gone out the frosted windows

3. Warm blankets

I recommend multiple fuzzy blankets so you can set the thermostat a little lower and cozy up on the couch. You’ll save money and be ridiculously comfortable! Bury yourself under them so that only your head peeks out and if someone walked by they might just miss you.

3. A dog to cuddle with

If you’re a cat person, you could bring a cat to cuddle with, but in my experience, cats don’t make for the best cuddlers.

4. A lit fireplace

Yes, I used the word “lit.” Thank you, society, for ruining my ability to use that word and not have it be laughable.

5. Holiday treats

My personal favorites include decorated sugar cookies, gingerbread cookies, those little pretzel M&M reindeers and candy canes. If you’re looking for something salty, popcorn is never a bad choice, and you can always pull any normal snack out of your cupboard and pretend it's holiday-themed.

6. Snow

If you live where it snows, this may happen automatically. If not, or if the weather is just playing games and saving the snow for when no one wants it around, you might have to pull up a graphic of falling snow on your laptop.

7. Fuzzy socks

Warm feet= happy feet. Happy feet= happy marathon. (Also, Happy Feet is a great film that could be added to your list if you want a little break from the Christmas theme but still want something wintery!)

8. Candles

Christmas tree or peppermint-scented are ideal. If you light candles though, you’re not allowed to fall asleep on the couch while they’re burning. Fire safety is important.

9. Decorations

If you don’t have a tree and wreaths up, maybe you should plan a decorating day first. Whatever decorations your heart desires are perfect!

10. Face masks

While you’re watching hours of Christmas classics, might as well “treat yo' self” and throw on a face mask, maybe paint your nails and use some pore strips.

The perfect recipe for a perfect movie marathon is not complete without a dash of Christmas Cheer! Happy binge watching!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
