Game of Thrones. It is a show that I think gets mentioned every 5 minutes in every single piece of media I look at every day. After putting it off since high school I finally bit the bullet, drank the kool-aid, however you want to say it: I gave in to pop culture. Since there are not that many people like me out there who have just now submitted to the goodness that is this show, I thought I would share my initial thoughts on season one. All you seasoned veteran watchers may get a kick out of this.

1. Cersei actually is the worst.

And I'm sure I will only come to hate her more. She actively makes me want to turn the show off every time she shows up and she is pretty much the only character that I wish would die.

2. Can people please keep it in their pants?

I swear every five minutes someone is getting naked. If these characters were required to keep their clothes on and behave morally this story would not exist. Never have I cringed more times than in just the first episode of this show.

3. Jon Snow is bae.

I'm pretty sure the winds of Winterfell are basically like fans purely made for the purpose if making Jon Snow's hair that much more dreamy. And never has the classic black garb of the Night's Watch looked quite that good.

4. I heart Daenerys and Khal Drogo.

I mean what is more romantic than your hubby pouring molten gold over your twerp of a brother's head? But alas like any good thing in this show George R.R. Martin took it away as quickly as he introduced it.

5. Poor Sean Bean.

Home bro literally cannot catch a break. Much like the fate of Boromir in LOTR this guy doesn't last but a second but man did he shake things up. Must be cool to be the centerpiece of this whole thing and yet only be in like nine episodes.

6. Tyrion is definitely my favorite Lannister.

The guy consumes more alcohol and gets more women than thirty normal sized men. Sure he is a member of the most powerful and hated family in the seven kingdoms but he is smarter than them all and nothing slips past him. I'm watching out for him to do big things.

7. Where can I get a pet dire wolf?

Not only are they freaking adorable, these Stark family pets will rip a person's throat out if they even attempt to hurt their master. Even when everything is going completely wrong these pups can somehow save the day.

8. Daenerys is a bad ass.

From becoming an equal to the most brutal tribe in this whole fictional world to rearing dragons (I know right?!) Daenerys never fails to be awesome. She knows what's up and isn't afraid to do what it takes to get things done.

9. I have slightly mixed feelings about Sansa Stark.

Yeah I know she is doing her best to keep her family from being killed but I can't say I feel bad whenever Geoffrey ruins her day. This spoiled little brat is basically the reason that her family is in flames but once her dad dies she gets it together. We shall see how I feel about her in the next season.

10. Well played HBO well played.

I thought I would escape after this season saying that it wasn't all that great and the hype was unjustified. Nope. My eyes are bloodshot and I haven't slept because of this new addiction and yeah I don't have any intention to stop watching.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
