10 Fictional Planets We Wish Were Real

What if the newly discovered planets were a bit more well-known?

In case you haven't heard, NASA announced that they discovered 7 Earth-size planets, three of which are suitable for life. In other words:

Alright, settle down. The prospect of Alien life is enough to get anybody excited. But what about the planets themselves? We've seen all sorts of planets in films, TV shows, books, there's no shortage of them. Here are 10 fictional planets that would be awesome, and maybe some not so awesome, to really exist.

1. Gallifrey

The home world of the Time Lords, this planet would be utterly breathtaking. As described by the Doctor in Season 3, "They used to call it the Shining World of the Seven Systems. And on the continent of Wild Endeavour, in the mountains of Solace and Solitude, there stood the Citadel of the Time Lords. The oldest and most mighty race in the universe. " That quote plus the picture don't even begin to tell how beautiful Gallifrey would be.

The bad news? It's out of sync with the universe so the chances of actually finding it aren't that great. However, we can always hope!

2. Mustafar

I don't know about you, but sometimes you need to sulk and be grumpy. What better place to do that then a planet that is basically all lava. Even better, it's already full of gasses, so we couldn't screw it up too much more (That's not a challenge). If this does exist, make sure to stay away from the giant tower where Vader is...

3. Coruscant

Imagine New York, but an entire planet. That is literally what Coruscant is. There's the Jedi Temple, diners, operas, and so much more. I think the only problem would be not being able to do everything. And possibly that the senate is corrupt (But we already know that)

4. Ahch-To

This is where Luke spent his solitude after Kylo Ren went Dark Side on Luke. It's basically all water, and what could be better? Islands could be rented for a few weeks and once on the island, nobody else can reach you. It's like coming home from high school, but better!

5. Naboo

Beautiful scenes, rolling fields of grass, and a fairly peaceful government. Naboo almost seems too perfect. Of course, you may have to put up with some Gungans, but that's not too bad. Most of them are good. Just not Jar-Jar...

6. Scarif

If you have yet to see what is the most beautiful movie ever (in my opinion), you don't know what I'm talking about. If you have, you know that Scarif is home to the Imperial Data Records, as well as stunning beaches, palm trees, heck it's basically a tropical island in planet form.

7. Skaro

Where there's good, there's bad. Admittedly, the home world of the Daleks is impressive, especially as they only have a whisk and a plunger to build with, but I think I can safely assume that nobody wants to be captured by the Daleks.

8. New Earth

A beautiful, thriving civilization with advances in medicine and technology. It's also home to New New York (Correction: New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New York). The grass is green, the nurses are cats and overall it's a cool place. Just don't go on the motorway...

9. Persephone

We first got introduced to Captain Malcolm Reynolds on this not-so-beautiful planet, but what makes this planet awesome is the people on it. The scum, traders, black-market dealers. We could have a planet where we could send thugs and not worry about them!

10. Vulcan

Say what you will, Vulcan is awesome. Mainly because it is the birthplace of Spock. Other than that, there's really nothing too great about it. But if it means we can have Vulcans/Spock/Starfleet, count me in!

There are about 100 more planets that I'm sure people would love to exist. Whatever planets we may find and one day possibly inhabit, please remember that for right now, this chunk of rock in the middle of space is the only place we know for sure will support us. So please, love the Earth.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
