10 Ed Sheeran Lyrics That Make Every Hopeless Romantic Melt
If you're anything like me, you love love. You cry at every Nicholas Sparks book and movie, and you can feel goosebumps creeping up on you whenever you listen to a sappy love song on the radio. Most people love Ed Sheeran for many obvious reasons, but for someone who is as emotional as I am, his songs can make them absolutely melt inside, picturing their perfect love story and their romantic, fairytale ending.
Here are the top 10 Ed Sheeran lyrics that I think can get even the hardest at heart to tear up (just a little) : *disclaimer – narrowing these down was incredibly difficult*
1.“All that you are is all that I'll ever need”
2.“I'll be taking my time, spending my life // Falling deeper in love with you”
3. “Me I fall in love with you every single day // And I just wanna tell you I am”
4. “And I could live, I could die // Hanging on the words you say”
Okay, any lyrics about lifelong love and continuing to fall in love with one's partner every day forever is sure to cause some goosebumps. I find it beautiful when people talk about love with a sense of eternity and belonging.
5. “I have faith in what I see // Now I know I have met an angel in person”
6. “And if you're broken I'll mend ya // And keep you sheltered from the storm that's raging on”
7. “You know hearts don't break around here”
8. “She is the lighthouse in the night that will safely guide me home”
I picked this bunch because of their feelings of security. There is a feeling of comfort and safety with the person you're in love with, and who wouldn't want that?
9.“How would you feel, if I told you I loved you? // It's just something that I want to do”
Any random gesture or words of kindness, especially random words of affection to someone you love, will always make their day. What's wrong with telling those you love that you love them, just because?
10.“But I know God made another one of me to love you better than I ever will”
Though one of the saddest lyrics I've found from Ed Sheeran, these from U.N.I. show true love for another person, and the knowledge that sometimes we don’t give people the love they deserve. Imagine hearing someone you had been in a relationship with say this, and being reassured that they still care about and want the best for you, and want you to be happy.
All in all, any Ed Sheeran lyric is a good lyric. Thinking Out Loud, Perfect, Lego House, etc., etc., are all masterpieces, and their sappiness gets me every. single. time. For a hardcore lover, any of these songs will do, and maybe Ed can, through music, teach us all to love a little more.
