Bored over spring break? Here are some shows to cheer you up by tearing your heart apart and making you crazy.
8. Jessica Jones
While this show only has one season out right now it is one hell of a season. Krysten Ritter plays a superpowered PI with some problems. If you're in the mood for a badass female lead, you cant go wrong with this show. Whether you're into comic book movies or not, this show is extremely dark with twists and turns during the whole show.
7. The Walking Dead
This zombie-filled survival story will have your emotions torn apart one by one. It is dark, gritty and filled with characters that reflect human society in today's world. Rick, the main character, is a sheriff who wakes up in the hospital one day and everyone is a zombie. Wow. Yikes. The story has a multitude of characters that come and go so there is always a reason to watch.
6. Daredevil
With the second season of this show coming out March 18th, there is ample opportunity to start watching season one and be ready for season two right away. The devil of Hell's Kitchen is born in this series. This dark show is a much better adaptation of the superhero daredevil than Ben Affleck's movie. Highly recommend.
5. House of Cards
If you can watch a season of House of Cards and not say Frank Underwood is one of the most complex characters you've ever encountered you're lying. This show isn't typical as Frank Underwood is not a good guy. This anti-hero does everything he can to get more power, exploiting every opportunity he can.
4. Prison Break
Michael Scofield is one of the smartest characters on any TV show ever. To break his brother out of prison he tattoos the entire prison schematics on his back and commits armed robbery to land him in the same prison to break his brother out. What could go wrong right? Making friends and enemies is what this show is about and where people's true loyalties lie.
3. Sons of Anarchy
This biker gang out of the fictional town of Charming in Northern California is extremely involved in the well-being of their town, sometimes too much so. This show revolves heavily around this gang of outlaws and their gun-running schemes. The family dynamic between Jax, Clay and Gemma is ridiculous. This show is a commitment because it is seven whopping seasons long but it will be worth the ride, so to speak.
2. Lost
The show Lost took over a whole generation on TV as parents and kids alike were addicted to it. Lost is one of the craziest shows I have ever watched with the multitude of characters and absolutely ridiculous twists and turns will never have this show be boring.
1. Breaking Bad
One of the best shows ever on television is on Netflix and it is begging to be watched. I personally am on season three, but I am having a hard time finishing it because I don't want it to be gone so soon. Walter White and Jesse Pinkman have established themselves as permanent figures in television history. Bryan Cranston went on to perform Oscar-nominated roles in movies and is one of the best actors of our generation.
