Before you head back to school in the fall, try out these dates with your significant other. They will be a step up before your subjected to the Taco Bell and Franzia dates once again.
1. Out of Africa - Camp Verde, AZ
Want to go to Africa but don't have a passport? Save yourself a trip and head up North to meet the lions and tigers and bears, oh my! This wildlife park is an all day date! Your day will be filled with tiger, snake, and exotic animal shows along with a safari and the chance to feed the animals. If you're feeling extra frisky there is a three hour "Predator Zip Line Tour" through the park that gives you an up above view of all the animals. Out of Africa is an adventure worth taking! (P.S. You get in free on your birthday!)
2. Arizona Broadway Theater - Peoria, AZ
If you're looking for a night on the town, pick up tickets for a show at ABT. The current show is Legally Blonde (which makes me totally wanna bend and snap) and next on stage is Lucky Stiff. The theater shows a play while you enjoy a five course meal. This is a classy way to spend a summer night with your honey!
3. Top Golf - Scottsdale, AZ
Want to feel like a grown up kid? Head to Top Golf to basically relive the awkward Jr. High mini golfing dates in a grown up, classier way. Not only do you get to golf, each ball you hit has a chip implanted in it that tracks how far and how close you get to each hole. In addition, the holes are neon lit at night adding a luxurious vibe to the typical driving range. Also, enjoy a full bar and gourmet restaurant catered to your personal bay.
4. Antelope Canyon/Horseshoe Bend - Page, AZ
Make a whole day of sight seeing in Page, Arizona! Antelope Canyon's sandstone walls have a flowing shape made my erosion and flash floods. It makes for one of the prettiest photo spots in Arizona. In order to tour you have to get with a tour group right outside of Page. There are two choices of tours, one is an hour and a half long and the second is two and a half hours. (most would suggest the hour and a half is plenty of time). While you're in Page, head on over to the border of Lake Powell where Horseshoe Bend rests just 20 minutes away from the canyon. A giant U-shaped rock with the Colorado River running around it that leads into the rest of the lake. It is an easy walk to the edge of the 1,000 foot drop into the River.
5. Pot A Gold Horseback Riding - Flagstaff, AZ
This outdoor adventure would be the best date! What's more romantic than horseback riding through the pine trees? You can choose a breakfast and ride or 1-8 hour ride depending on the length you prefer! Afterwards, check out Galaxy Diner for the best milkshake in town and free swing dancing lessons on Saturday nights.
6. Jerome - Jerome, AZ
This is a great overnight date to try with your significant other. The small town of Jerome is a perfect weekend getaway. It is known as "America's Most Vertical City" and "Largest Ghost Town in America". This cute little city is known for its unique shops and restaurants and especially its former jail. Jerome has many fun activities like mining tours and ghost tracking tours. Make sure to grab a bite at the Mile High Grill to try the best hamburger in Arizona. If you need somewhere to stay, the Jerome Grand Hotel is one of the ten most haunted places in America!
7. Baseball Game @ Chase Field - Phoenix, AZ
What could be a better date than America's Pastime? Head over to downtown Phoenix to watch the Diamondbacks play ball in an air conditioned stadium. There are endless possibilities for food including T.G.I. Friday's where you can sit on the patio and enjoy dinner and the game. Or if you're feeling extra adventurous there's a pool in the outfield that lets you watch the game while taking a swim!
8. Old Tucson Studios- Sonora Desert Museum- Gates Pass at Sunset -Tucson, AZ
If you're looking for a date in the dirty T, check out the Old Tucson Studios. An old western town that was once a movie studio and now hosts staged gun fights, horse rides, and you can even pan for your own gold! You're in for a good time with some cowboys and indians and a whole lot of ass (donkeys). Afterwards, head on over to the Sonora Desert Museum where they have a zoo, botanical garden, art gallery, natural history museum, and aquarium. There is a 2.1 mile outside walk throughout the museum that lets you see all of the beauty in the Sonoran Desert. Head over to Gates Pass right before sunset to hike a small mountain and see the best sunset in the state. (The picture below is literally Gates Pass)
9. Devil's Bridge - Sedona, AZ
Let me start by saying:
1. This is not first date material
2. This is not a date for first-time hikers
3. Pick a buff date (they may need to carry you down)
The hike to Devil's Bridge is 1.8 miles and takes about an hour and a half in total. (I made the mistake of going at noon during the summer... I would advise going early in the morning before it gets too hot) It is suggested and extremely smart to bring one gallon of water per person. The view from the top is breathtaking and well worth the hike! If you're craving an after hike snack check out the Tea Light Cafe for a delicious boba smoothie and more great views of the Sedona Red Rocks.
10. Phoenix Art Museum-Arizona Science Center - Phoenix, AZ
This date is great to get out of the AZ heat! (Also, really good first date material b/c there is a LOT to talk about at museums) The art museum is located in downtown phoenix and a quick ten minute drive to the Science Center. Both activities take about half a day to complete which makes it the perfect all day date. The art museum is full of "18,000 works of American, Asian, European, Latin American, Western American, Modern and Contemporary art, and fashion design". (Free admission: 3-9pm Wednesdays and 6-10pm first Fridays) The Science Center is an interactive place to learn about the human body, musical instruments, and much more. Plus, there is a planetarium and IMAX theater showing movies, "Normandy" and the "Unseen World".
Every first Friday of the month is Adult's Night Out from 5:30-9pm where 18 and older can come and listen to fun lectures about topics in the real world as well as enjoy a cash bar and free admission to the rest of the exhibits! Check out Lux coffee for a lunchtime break and try the jalapeño macaroni and cheese.

Have a blast with your #1 despite this Arizona heat by going on these 10 dates!
