I thought going into college would be super easy, almost as easy as high school but we all know that that is a joke, but there a few things to be thankful for, more like, who to be thankful for. This is to thank my friends who have turned into my family and my family who has always had my back.
Thank you for...
1. Telling you that sometimes its okay to be wrong.
After bombing the first test it will always be hard and thinking that you are right and the professor is wrong is silly, so having friends to be "real" with you and assure that you are not a "know-it-all" is the best thing to keep you level headed as you further your education.
2. Bringing you food when you are too helpless and lazy.
You know you have met the friends who will turn into family when you simply live down the hall and you're hungry and they have the "6th sense" that you need food too. Those are the nights where, whataburger at 2 a.m., pancakes for dinner and chimichangas are meant to be for.
3. Reminding me that saying NO is OKAY.
In college, freshman want to experience E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. And that is how being the college burn out occurs, and having friends who convince you to have a night in instead of going out are looking out for your sanity.
4. For being my "mom" when I needed authority.
Sometimes its easier to talk to our friends who are now turning into our family and that makes the college journey that much better.
5. For letting me go out an join new clubs and organizations even when you knew they would fall through.
"Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me", that just something that comes with being stubborn and hard headed but it only allows for friendships to grow stronger.
6. For being a "bounce friend", especially when I needed to bounce back.
Not all friendships last forever but the ones that will are those that you do not have to have to communicate all the time to, and when you do talk, the stories continue where they started.
7. For having my back when no one else did.
Courage is a scary thing to muster up but having true friends that will be that back bone when you can't is something you ALWAYS have to be thankful for.
8. When saying NO is NOT an option.
Making you get out and enjoy the night or the day or even going to wal-mart at 3 a.m. (which is nuts) is worth not saying no too.
9. For introducing me to others who are now part of the family.
For the friends that are older and will graduate but they introduce you to people who will love you just the same if not more.
10. For making these the years that I will cherish forever.
There are not enough thank you's that can be said to appreciate what real friends can do for you. And if I could have a slide show on here I would to just show off all the amazing people in my life, but the best part is that you know who you are and those reading have the same thoughts. You know who your friends for life are too.
