Here are 10 things every girl should master by the end of this year. Ditch the old habits from 2015 and spice up your life with these new goals. These beauty hacks will help you become more fashionable and stylish.
1. Learn how to fill in your eyebrows.
Dark eyebrows are coming into style. I’ve always been a fan of thick eyebrows and finally, the rest of the world is on board. Filling in your eyebrows adds shape and makes them look a lot thicker and darker without making them look bushy.
2. Master-winged eyeliner.
I have yet to accomplish this, and I am no good at YouTube tutorials, but master this! Winged eyeliner adds a little more edge to your makeup than regular straight eyeliner. Winged eyeliner makes your eyes pop more and will help when putting on eye shadow.
3. Stop buying leggings and sweaters.
Buy some cute clothes for once. You should spend more money on jeans and nice blouses, and less on your 11th pair of black leggings and fifth oversized sweater. It is about time we enter the real world and I don’t believe t-shirts and leggings are appropriate attire at work.
4. Learn to do your eye shadow.
It’s time to figure out how to make your eyes pop. Ditch the nude and light browns and go bold with gold, dark browns, dark grays and dark blues. The smokey eye is still important to learn, but venture out.
5. Invest in an expensive/good quality purse.
Buy yourself a designer bag. Nothing will make you feel more ready for an interview or meeting than a nice bag hanging on your arm. You deserve to spoil yourself a little.
6. Wear wedges and heels more often.
Don’t just wear nice shoes to the bars; wear them anytime you dress up! Heels always boost your confidence and they bring out the model walk we all have deep down inside. Since it is winter, booties can count, but no more sweaters and booties together!
7. Invest in some nice pieces of jewelry.
Again, spoil yourself a little. Buy a classy pair of diamond earrings. They don’t have to be super expensive, but buy yourself a nice necklace or some earrings that aren’t Tory Burch or Kendra Scott.
8. Wear bolder lipstick.
Not bright red or dark purple. Wear a deep red, or a popping pink this year, or even a nude color. But go bolder with your lipstick.
9. Don’t get your usual haircut.
Do something crazy. Most of us have had the same haircut for as long as we can remember, or we always dye it the same color. Get highlights or get a short cut! It is time to ditch the old-school haircut and do something creative.
10. Learn to contour like a pro.
Contouring is life saving. There are a ton of contour kits and makeup tutorials you can watch that will teach you how to contour like a professional. Contouring makes a big difference, and you don’t want to get left behind in the makeup world.
