The kimono has become one of this year's biggest fashion trends. I loved seeing it online, or on other people, but I wasn't so sure I could pull one off myself. But, with so many different patterns and textures, surely a kimono out there for everyone. The one I'm wearing is made of lace fabric and can be dressed up or down depending on what you wear it with.
Here are a few different ways to style this trend.
1. One of the simplest ways to wear a kimono in the summer heat is paired with simple sandals, denim shorts, and a plain white tank top. This style is relaxed, but polished at the same time.
2. Everyone loves a good LBD, but sometimes it can be a little too plain. For a little extra something, I put the lace kimono on top of the black dress and belted it with a red belt for a pop of color. Put on a red lip, and you're ready for a night out.
3. For this look, I combined three trends in one outfit: a kimono, a statement necklace, and colored pants. This is probably the most fun and most colorful look of them all. As Kate Spade once said, "live colorfully."
4. This look is a little dressier and involves wearing the kimono in a different way. For this look I criss-crossed the front of the kimono and tucked it into the skirt. I chose to pair this look with a black pencil skirt. You can tuck this look into almost anything: dress pants, high-waisted shorts, printed pants, etc.
5. This look is another take on pairing the kimono with a dress, and is a little more of a bohemian style. I threw the kimono over a loose, flowy dress and added a long necklace and some chunky wedges for an easy-going, casual feel.
I hope these style tips help give you some ideas. Happy styling, and be sure to let me know how you like to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe!
