As an avid 'Friends' watcher, and by that I mean as someone who watches 'Friends' religiously, I'm sure you can assume that I was devastated to hear that my favorite show was leaving Netflix in less than a month.
Luckily, I'm not the only person who sees their love of 'Friends' as a hobby, and the nation-wide fan club took to social media to share the reasons why 'Friends' is more than just a 10 season long sitcom where everyone hooks up with everyone. 'Friends' gives a heart-warming and laugh-out-loud spin on the stresses of everyday life, and once we convinced Netflix of this fact, they issued a tweet stating "'Friends' will still be there for [us] in the US throughout 2019."
In honor of the successful actions taken to keep my hobby alive, I've chosen 15 episodes that I think show why 'Friends' is funny, relatable, a total mood-booster, and deserved to be kept of Netflix.
The One Where Everyone Finds Out (S5: E14)
This has been my favorite 'Friends' episode for as long as I can remember. Monica and Chandler's secret is out! But they don't know that we know they know we know...
The One With the Embryos (S4: E12)
As Phoebe is busy having her brother's babies (yes, you read that right), Monica and Rachel lose their apartment to Chandler and Joey in a game of "who knows who best."
The One Where No One's Ready (S3: E2)
While Ross struggles to get everyone out the door for an event at the museum, Monica obsesses over a voicemail from Richard, Phoebe masks a stain on her dress with a Christmas bow, Joey and Chandler fight over a chair, and Rachel decides she's just not going!
The One Where Ross Finds Out (S2: E7)
After a night out with a date that turns into a drunken mess, Rachel decides to call Ross in hopes of receiving "closure." To her dismay, Ross hears the voicemail while in Rachel's apartment, where she states the she is over Ross. Ross, who has been in love with Rachel since high school, has to decided between his current girlfriend, Julie, and his long-time crush, Rachel.
The One With the Football (S3: E9)
The 'Friends' Thanksgiving episodes are always the best. This one involves a friendly game of touch football, or at least that's how it starts!
The One With the Prom Video (S2: E14)
When Monica and Rachel reveal a home video from their prom, we learn Ross's true feelings for Rachel, proving that Rachel is indeed his lobster.
The One With the Blackout (S1: E7)
During a city-wide blackout, Chandler is stuck in an ATM vestibule with a Victoria's Secret model. Back at the apartment, Ross struggles to reveal his feelings to Rachel.
The One With the Birth (S1: E23)
While Ross's ex-wife, Carol, is in labor, he, Phoebe, and Susan (Carol's partner) get trapped in a janitor's closet, fighting over who will love their new son the most.
The One With Ross's Tan (S10: E3)
When Ross notices Monica's freshly-tanned legs, he decides to get a spray tan for himself. He fails miserably, however, due to his "counting Mississippily."
The One With Phoebe's Wedding (S10: E12)
Monica obsessively plans Phoebe's Christmas wedding, becoming a little too controlling for Phoebe. Rachel is forced to choose who will be the last groomsman in the wedding, Chandler or Ross.
The One With All the Resolutions (S5: E11)
The whole gang decides to make New Year's resolutions, but all fail miserably. Ross's resolution, to do something new ever day, goes terribly wrong when he's on a date in his new leather pants.
The One With the Cop (S5: E16)
When Phoebe finds a police badge in the coffee house, she decides to have a little fun and impersonate a cop. She's later confronted by the cop himself, but he asks her on a date, rather than punishing her for committing a felony. Ross has trouble moving his furniture into his new apartment, bringing us his famous line: "PIVOT!"
The One With Unagi (S6: E17)
Ross introduces the concept of 'unagi' to Rachel and Phoebe after they take a self-defense class. He takes it a little too far, trying to prepare the girls for any danger that may occur.
The One Where Ross Got High (S6: E9)
Here's another Thanksgiving episode, where Rachel tries to perfect a Thanksgiving dessert, but ends up serving beef and custard in the same dish instead. Ross and Monica get into a heated argument that results in them revealing several secrets from their childhood to their parents.
The One On the Last Night (S6: E6)
As Rachel prepares to move out of their apartment so that Monica and Chandler can live together, she starts a heated argument with Monica and suddenly refuses to leave. Chandler, feeling bad about leaving Joey, makes up a fake card game in order to secretly lend Joey some money.
