If I watch a conspiracy video on YouTube, it's inevitable that I will fall down the rabbit hole and explore videos for hours on end. There are many far-fetched conspiracies (@flatearthers) but some are so interesting and compelling that it's hard not to do your own research on them.
Aside from my own amateur sleuthing, I really like the content that some YouTubers create. It's not easy to put together an interesting and fact-based video on topics like conspiracies, but these YouTubers get an A+ in my book.
From murder mysteries to interesting conspiracies, here are my five favorite channels that address this genre of content.
1. Kendall Rae
In the past year, Kendall Rae has become one of my favorite YouTubers. She works hard on her videos and you can tell by the extensive reporting she does.
Kendall’s videos are straightforward, and she lays facts down plain and simple. She is also level-headed, and her personal theories on topics are reasonable and well thought-out. She also is hilarious and down-to-earth.
If you’re just starting to explore Kendall’s page, I recommend watching the video she did on Kurt Cobain’s death.
2. Shane
Shane Dawson might be a YouTube comedy veteran, but his more serious content is just as good. Shane posts about interesting conspiracies and offers compelling evidence. I recommend starting with his video on popular conspiracies.
3. Strange mysteries
Strange mysteries does a great job at explaining complex topics about the universe and theories on existence. The writing is smart, witty and humorous. Lots of research and work is put into the videos, and that is easy to see. The content this channel distributes is always fresh and original, even if the topics are a little too theoretical.
I recommend their video on creepy things in space.
4. Top5s
Do not watch a Top5s video alone. This YouTuber’s content is eerie and interesting. From serial killers to paranormal activity, Top5s is a YouTube channel that you will most likely become addicted to. With a soothing voice-over from the creator, these mini-documentaries are ultra-compelling. Be sure to check out Top5s' video on the Chernobyl disaster.
5. Buzzfeedblue: Buzzfeed Unsolved
Not only are these unsolved mysteries creepy and interesting, but the two guys who star in this Buzzfeed series are hilarious. Ryan and Shane’s chemistry is fun to watch aside from their great videos. I recommend watching their video on the disappearance of the Sodder children.
There you have it. The five best YouTube channels that put out interesting and mind-boggling content.
