Spring (break) season is upon us, and while for some that means trips to Cabo and relaxing on the beach, for others it means one week of staying indoors with Netflix and popcorn. While I'm bummed that I'm not going to be sitting outside and tanning this year, I'm plenty content with my break thanks to these shows:
1. "Queer Eye"
The "Fab Five" - a group of five gay men, each with their own talents - travel across Atlanta, Georgia on a mission to makeover the lifestyles of eight men who lack self-care. Each member of the team has a unique personality (my favorites are Antoni and Tan), and make the show both hilarious and heartwarming.
(1 Season, watch on Netflix)
2. "Dear White People"
"Dear White People" brings up relevant social issues and addresses them in an interesting, thoughtful way. The Netflix series is a spin-off expansion of the original movie, written by a Chapman University alumni and based on his real experiences at college. I've lost count of how many times I've watched it (and it's movie counterpart) by now.
(1 Season, watch on Netflix)
3. "The Defenders"
I'm a HUGE Marvel fan, so you can imagine my excitement for a major cross-over show that has been a couple years in the making. I know this came out a long time ago, but I'm allowed to re-watch a show if I want to.
(1 Season, watch on Netflix)
4. "Disjointed"
This show is about a family-owned pot dispensary. It's a silly sitcom made to look like a web-show (think "iCarly").
(2 Seasons, watch on Netflix)
