TikTok Introduced Me To Ashnikko And You Should All Stan Her

For a while, I was very hesitant to download TikTok. I had heard of Musical.ly and seen the cringe videos that came out of it, so I figured TikTok would be a continuation of that. Slowly, TikTok transformed from solely lip-syncing videos into original, funny content. I started to see more and more TikTok compilations come up in my YouTube recommended and before I knew it, I downloaded the app.

After being on TikTok for a while, I have realized just how quickly songs blow up on the app. When one person makes an interesting enough video to a song, it becomes a trend and suddenly everyone is making videos using the same song. This is how I came across STUPID by Ashnikko Feat. Yung Baby Tate.

When I first heard the song on TikTok, it instantly got stuck in my head. I found myself humming the chorus and just repeating it over and over. Ashnikko's Genius video for STUPID was then put in my YouTube recommended and before I knew it, I followed her on all her social media and started to listen to more of her music. I definitely consider myself a stan now and you should be too. (You should stan Yung Baby Tate as well! Her verse in STUPID is legendary.)

If you like songs that talk about horrible ex-boyfriends and hype you up at the same time, then Ashnikko is your girl. Her music gives you that exact boost of confidence you need in order to feel like a bad b****. One of my favorite lines of hers is

"Hi, it's me, your best friend / Take his old t-shirt off and burn it"

She emphasizes the idea that you should not settle for anyone that is not worth your time. We are often told that we need to have a significant other in order to feel fulfilled, but Ashnikko pushes against that and tells you to not be with someone just for the sake of not being alone.

Of course, even if you are in a happy relationship, you can still get something out of her music. It is just nice to hear someone tell you that you deserve to be treated well and that you should love yourself. Sometimes we all need that extra push.

Also, since Halloween is coming up, I recommend you listen to Halloweenie and Halloweenie II: Pumpkin Spice by Ashnikko as well. Both songs are insanely catchy and will definitely be memorable at any party.
