On January 1st, 2014, I was 14-years-old. I loved writing then (what a surprise) and used to always jot down in my iPhone notes what I was thinking. A few days ago, I stumbled upon a note titled "New Years Resolutions" from four years ago. Life was just oh so hard as a 14-year-old. So let's see what I was actually thinking...
1. Be more positive
I was so focused on this aspect of my life...And 4 years later, I'd have to say positivity just comes naturally now.
2. Care a little less
As a self-conscious 14-year-old, I always cared what people thought of me...Now I don't even have enough energy to care
3. Don't overthink everything
14-year-old me spent way too much time thinking
4. Stay calm
My anxiety was at its strongest, and I dealt with a lot of drama
5. Be more focused on school work
I was one of those "not-cool" people who thought not caring about school work was the "cool" thing to do...So not true
6. Hang out with more people
Well, when you're 14 and your boyfriend barely allows you to hang out with anyone, this was obviously a top priority (That never changed) (LOL)
7. Don't cry
I cried A LOT ...about literally everything
8. Put a little more effort into my appearance
I was the type of 14-year-old who wore VS yoga pants and a crew kneck basically every day to school...No shame but now I couldn't care less
9. Always carry necessities around with me
Wow I was such a little lady
10. Don't be afraid
Unfortunately relates to the scary old boyfriend
11. Don't worry
I LOVE that I wrote this on my list 4 years ago because worried was the last thing I needed to be...Everything worked out smooth, and God placed me exactly where I am now
I hope you all gained a little insight into how much we change through our teen years. Our struggles/problems might be a little different, but that was me 4 years ago, and I am still proud of it!
