Here's What's Wrong With The Democratic Party

Their party enables the GOP. It's time we looked elsewhere for political action.

It's tiring to see how some folks are still invested in the blue-hued version of the party that screws over its constituents. They might not be the party that put a reality TV star millionaire in the Oval Office, but they are responsible for every possible misstep that put him there. Republicans sound worse than Democrats, but Democrats willfully aid and abet their agenda that involves setting back women's liberation, bombing the Global South, suppressing the work of radical black folk, and demonizing the LGBT community, especially trans people. Moreover, our neighbors in Mesoamerica suffer under the yoke of the Amerikkkan empire, their forests burned and looted by corporations. It is important to indict the Democrats for this mess, for they continually, for the past thirty years or more, have decided that their donor's interests mean more to them than the "Big Tent" constituency they supposedly represent. Even the most token of gestures towards their Left wing, electing a progressive chair for the Democratic National Committee, was tossed in favor of another Clintonite goon named Tom Perez. They even have lost the Senate, the House, and thousands of local seats to their supposed "deplorable" foes in the GOP. Surely this cannot be the fault of the Democrats! It must have been poor people!

But have we heard even an apology from Hillary Clinton for her abysmal campaign, her unending arrogance? Any strong words from Mr. Obama for enabling her crap? No, instead we get endless conspiracy nuttery on Russia and how the Soviet Union magically arose from the dead to brainwash millions of citizens. Nevermind voter suppression! Nevermind redlining, or gentrification, or the undue influence of free advertising for the Trump campaign! How ironic and convenient this excuse is in an age where Amerikkkans are slowly divesting from the capitalist paradigm. How convenient indeed.

Neoliberalism, the school of thought that champions a free market world with diverse Power Ranger faces as CEOs, has failed. Rather, it succeeded in building an Amerikkka where Oprah can be the richest black woman in the world yet black Americans still remain impoverished in the shadow of slavery, their sons and daughters imprisoned, if they aren't being shot by police.

And have the Democrats taken any considerable action against these grievances? They would tell you progress "takes time" when, in less than a hundred days, Donald Trump has advanced classic Nazi platforms with ease.

To all Democrats: liberation lies elsewhere.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
