How does God see me?

Through my eyes, I don't like I see myself. I see someone who isn't good enough. Someone who should try harder to do what everyone else wants me to be. Someone who isn't worthy of all given. Someone Jesus wouldn't have wanted to die for. Someone who God should just give up on because I keep failing Him. This is not how I am seen.

These are the lies I have allowed into my mind and I have believed for so long.

What would happen if I saw myself how God saw me? How does He see me?

Worthy.

I am worthy in His eyes. I am His image. "So God created man in His own image." -Genesis 1:27. This verse is a popular one but for a while, I never thought about what it really meant. Out of all the ways I could've been made; all the qualities, features, personalities, I am made the way I am because I will work best with God this way. My qualities don't make me less worthy of a certain task or path. I am made perfect the way I am.

Loved.

I am loved. "I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued to extend faithful love to you." -Jeremiah 31:3. I haven't lived a sin-free life and feel like I shouldn't be loved my Him but I am. He sent down His son to die for us and our sins have be cleansed by His blood. If that doesn't show God's love for us, I'm not sure what else would.

Gifted.

He has gifted all of His children. "Now grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of the Messiah’s gift. For it says: When He ascendedon high, He took prisoners into captivity; He gave gifts to people." -Ephesians 4:7-8. The Lord gave me a gift to be used to help bring other people to Him and grow deeper in Him.

Transformed.

I am in Christ and Christ is in me. "Then I heard a loud voice from the throne: Look! God’s dwelling is with humanity, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with themand be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will no longer exist; grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer, because the previous things have passed away." -Relvelation 21:3-4. Christ lives in His people. He is working through them. I am being transformed into the image of His son.

God doesn't see me as what I have done but who I am. He values me highly and only wants the best for me. He has planned for me so carefully. He has provided for me.

He loves me so deeply.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
