There are always new fancy workouts and innovative ways to get a good sweat sesh in, so much so that it all gets kind of complicated to follow. That’s why I’ve gotten in the habit of testing out different apps on my phone not only does it help track my workout regimen but it also makes sure to keep my motivation up.

The trick? Turn notifications on so that you get the reminders that guilt you into lacing up your tennis shoes. Time to go on that 30-minute run you’ve been dreading to do…

1. RunKeeper

This one is an app I swear by! It’s really useful in helping to keep track of your runs because it uses a GPS tracker to see how many miles you complete. On top of that, it tells you calories burned and motivates you with a little “check in” every couple of minutes. I also really love that they have a challenges section where you can join millions of other users and give yourself a goal to follow and complete in X amount of time!

2. JEFIT

This is one I’ve recently downloaded and it’s so good! It has a bunch of different workout plans that you can follow (from a week to a couple of months)- all depending on what part of the body you want to focus on. It also has a place to put progress photos, to journal and to keep track of anything else that has to do with your fitness journey.

3. MyFitnessPal

This is just an overall good health app. It has a blog with good articles that keep you educated on overall health topics affecting every age, gender, etc. Additionally, you can track your calories and set different personal goals. Every time you reach a goal, the app congratulates you!

4. Sleep Cycle

This is one that I don’t personally use but one that I should start using! My brother swears by it. The app makes sure you get a good night of sleep, it tracks your sleep pattern and then wakes you up when it feels you’ll be the least groggy (you set your alarm and within a 30 minute mark surrounding there it’ll wake you up) to make sure you have a day feeling super energetic.

While these apps might not be magic and turn you into this perfect person that ends up adoring working out, they do help.

They really have helped stick to my 4x a week work out regimen and have helped make workouts a little more exciting than usual!

Here’s to hoping one of them gets you off the Couch to running that 5K (which coincidentally is also an app...)

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
