If you're politic-obsessed like me, I'm sure you have a handful of your favorite presidents. In my opinion, the presidents from the past gave us some words to live by. Here are a few phrases that the American people should forever ponder.
1. "We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone." -Ronald Reagan
2. "Defeat does not finish a man, quit does. A man is not finished when he is defeated, a man is finished when he quits." -Richard Nixon
3. "Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." -Abraham Lincoln
4. "To those of you who are graduating this afternoon with high honors, awards, and distinctions, I say, 'Well done.' And as I like to tell the C students: You too, can be president of the United States." -George W. Bush
5. "Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom." -Thomas Jefferson
6. "Change is the law of life. Those who only look at the past or present are certain to miss the future." -John F. Kennedy
7. "Believe that you can, and you're halfway there." -Theodore Roosevelt
8. "It is far better to be alone, than to be in bad company." -George Washington
9. "If your actions inspire people to dream more, learn more, and do more, then you are a leader." -John Quincy Adams
10. "If you treat people right, they will treat you right... ninety percent of the time." -Franklin D Roosevelt
America is one incredible nation. As I read the words of these men of the past, I realize how upstanding our leaders really were. The truth will never waver, the right thing to do will always remain the same.
Just for kicks:
"Indeed I did have relations with Miss Lewinsky that were not appropriate." -Bill Clinton
"My husband may have his faults, but he has never lied to me." -Hillary Clinton.
Be wise, America.
